If you love small, intelligent dogs, then you will appreciate the amazing attributes of the Cavapoo, a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Poodle. Also, known as the Cavadoodle or Cavoodle, this designer breed originated in Australia and has become incredibly popular in the United States due to their low shedding characteristic and obvious intelligence. Australian breeders began intentionally mixing the Cavalier Spaniel and the Poodle back in the 90s in a bid to create a puppy with the amazing qualities of both breeds.

Appearance and Grooming

This small puppy has a fluffy coat that varies from straight, to wavy or curly. They come in different colors with the most common being black, brown, tricolor, white and yellow. Due to the breed having one parent that does there is a minimal possibility that your puppy may shed. Its coat needs to be frequently brushed to avoid tangles. Brushing also helps to remove dirt, especially around the legs. The fur should be periodically cut throughout the year and more often on the legs, muzzle and around the eyes.

Temperament

Just like their parent the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, they will be a very affectionate dog that loves to be with its family, but like the poodle will require more mental stimulation. These dogs are very connected with their owners and if left alone for long periods of time can become anxious and even form a habit of barking.

Family and Companionship

These loveable lap dogs are great companions and the perfect family pet. They will fit right in to their new environment in no time at all. Fool of energy and always ready to play, these dogs are perfect for children, though because of their small size it is important to supervise during playtime.

Exercise

The Cavapoo is energetic in its nature and therefore requires regular exercise and walks to remain healthy. Playing a game of tug or fetch with them along with a walk will ensure that your puppy’s needs are met. They do not require as much exercise as Poodles, but are a bit more outgoing than Cavaliers.

Training and Socialization

Due to its energetic and social attitude, it is important to regularly socialize your puppy with other dogs and people throughout its life. This is a fun loving and clever dog that can easily be trained and responds well to positive reinforcement from persons who behave fairly toward him and who show consistency and patience. Training in agility and competitive obedience is also great for Cavapoos as they are an intelligent breed that is eager to learn.

My boy Ollie just turned 1 on April 8th! He's 14 pounds of pure joy, I love this lil guy to bits! The folks at Premier Pups were fabulous to work with, so happy I chose to use them. From the delivery of Ollie to New Jersey (during pandemic so no flying), to the daily calls to check in during his first week with me, they were professional, caring and knowledgeable. Ollie is a happy, well adjusted and healthy pup. Can't say enough good things about Premier Pups. They made things so easy :-)

I highly recommend Premier Pups. Oliver became a part of my family almost 2 yrs ago. He is the most amazing dog. I could immediately tell he came from a great breeder. He was so easy to train and I am told is the most popular pup at doggie daycare. So sweet, loving and very smart! He even lets himself out of his car seat when he needs to go the bathroom! (See picture). When it is time to welcome another pup in our home, I will be purchasing from Premier Pups!

Loc: Phoenix , Az

I searched high and low for the right pup. Conducted so much research into breeders and was hesitant to purchase a dog unseen. The experience made me feel at ease. They even offered a face to face. I fell in love the first moment I saw “Neptune”. Her name is now Ruby. She has been a blessing. The local vet was very impressed with her at her first check in. Stated very well taken care of. Premier pups set us up right, made sure she was ok , met us at the gate (she came on a plane) she was and still is perfect. This breed is very trainable, loving & it was very apparent she was well taken care of before she was our holiday gift. I would recommend anyone to seek purchasing their dog from premier pups. Maybe higher than your local breeder however worth the extra comfort and knowing I am purchasing quality with a guarantee. Blessed for my Ruby. If we decided to purchase another, this is where we will go. Laura -Phx Az

Name: Jada Picket Fence a.k.a. (Sandy)
Breed: Cavapoo
Client: Marie O'Laughlin
Loc: Rhodes, Michigan

Spur of the moment decision. I have been scoping out puppies on this website for a while now. When I seen Sandy's sweet face and blue eyes I jumped on the adoption. We drove 5 1/2 hours down and 5 1/2 hours back. Well worth the stress and the drama of it all. I call Jada my husband's therapy dog, since he has stage four cancer and sits in his chair most of the time. ... honestly , she loves her momma so much! Such joy, love and life now in this home. She's a good puppy, she will run away once out in the yard. I'll blame that on the spaniel, her nose is always down on the ground. She loves to hop, that goes to the poodle. Jada's teeth are bothering her, so all day long we say ouch, no biting. She sleeps with us, no cage for her. * Which I'm sure I'll pay for that later when we have to go away. But who can resist the warmth of a cuddly dog. So far she rides with us. She doesn't get sick in the car, so that's jackpot there. We love her. We're eating eggs and hotdogs till the end of the month, but well worth it. Sometimes you have to be selfish to feel better. One day when we can afford another, we will go back for a playmate. Thank you so much.

I purchased a Cavapoo puppy from Premier Pups a month ago. Everyone at Premier Pups was very helpful and patient with me as I tried to decided which dog bred was the best for our family. I was very impressed with the facility and knowledge of the staff and would recommend Premier Pups to anyone looking for a new addition! Our puppy, Ruby, is doing great! She completes our family and we feel blessed to have chosen the perfect dog! I will definitely return to Premier Puppies for my next dog! Thanks to everyone at Premier Pups for your time and help!

Name: Jenna
Breed: Cavapoo
Client: Jackie
Loc: Key largo florida

I had an amazing customer experience with Jenna. From the first call to the last. Lacie was great contacting new/updating me on flight details and she tried to help in any way she could. They really tried to give Jenna to me as quickly as possible which was amazing. Due to COVID-19, Mike personally put Jenna (with a few other puppies) on his private plane to ensure their safety during this pandemic. I was extremely pleased with this decision and Jenna was too! She’s a happy and healthy baby and I would totally recommend anyone getting a pup from this website and team!

Name: Goose
Breed: Cavapoo
Client: Ali
Loc: Cleveland, Ohio

Goose has the cutest personality... he loves people... even new people. So friendly. Potty training has been tough, but once he hit the one year mark and was neutered, he got so calm. He is obedient and fun. He loves to roll over. He is my first dog ever.. which I was quite worried about... Goose has made this process to much easier than I could have expected. They told us he would likely be under 10lbs and at a little over a year he is about 11.5lbs.
