If you love small, intelligent dogs, then you will appreciate the amazing attributes of the Cavapoo, a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Poodle. Also, known as the Cavadoodle or Cavoodle, this designer breed originated in Australia and has become incredibly popular in the United States due to their low shedding characteristic and obvious intelligence. Australian breeders began intentionally mixing the Cavalier Spaniel and the Poodle back in the 90s in a bid to create a puppy with the amazing qualities of both breeds.
Appearance and Grooming
This small puppy has a fluffy coat that varies from straight, to wavy or curly. They come in different colors with the most common being black, brown, tricolor, white and yellow. Due to the breed having one parent that does there is a minimal possibility that your puppy may shed. Its coat needs to be frequently brushed to avoid tangles. Brushing also helps to remove dirt, especially around the legs. The fur should be periodically cut throughout the year and more often on the legs, muzzle and around the eyes.
Just like their parent the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, they will be a very affectionate dog that loves to be with its family, but like the poodle will require more mental stimulation. These dogs are very connected with their owners and if left alone for long periods of time can become anxious and even form a habit of barking.
Family and Companionship
These loveable lap dogs are great companions and the perfect family pet. They will fit right in to their new environment in no time at all. Fool of energy and always ready to play, these dogs are perfect for children, though because of their small size it is important to supervise during playtime.
The Cavapoo is energetic in its nature and therefore requires regular exercise and walks to remain healthy. Playing a game of tug or fetch with them along with a walk will ensure that your puppy’s needs are met. They do not require as much exercise as Poodles, but are a bit more outgoing than Cavaliers.
Training and Socialization
Due to its energetic and social attitude, it is important to regularly socialize your puppy with other dogs and people throughout its life. This is a fun loving and clever dog that can easily be trained and responds well to positive reinforcement from persons who behave fairly toward him and who show consistency and patience. Training in agility and competitive obedience is also great for Cavapoos as they are an intelligent breed that is eager to learn.

I couldn’t be happier with my dog Rusty. I got him a little over two years ago. He is healthy, happy and playful. He loves everyone and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. Premier Pups customer service was great. This is a great place to find the breed of your choice.
Cooper is everything we every imagined. Playful, caring, and most importantly, loving. We will definitely purchase another pup from Premire Pups and I am more than thankful to call him my pup. Thank you Premire Pups!
I have only had Trixie for a week now, but she is an absolute delight. After a FaceTime session, I knew I had to have her. I made the four hour drive the next day to pick her up. The process from start to finish could not have been easier. Thank you Premiere Pups!
Our Cavapoo Dexter just turned 2 this month and he is a wonderful addition to our family! He is gentle and loving with our grandchildren and is so well behaved! We received wonderful service from Premier pups and if I were to get another puppy in the future I would definitely go back! I highly recommend them!
We adopted Margot (Oceana) from Premier Pups and just received her yesterday. My husband and I were hesitant to buy a puppy online because of puppy mills and scams that are associated with it. However, after doing extensive research on the company, consulting with the workers, and reading reviews on both the Premier Pups website and the BBB--we decided to give it a shot. We are so glad we did! Not only did Margot arrive healthy and happy, but she was very well equipped with everything we would need, even medications! They also called this morning to check on how she was doing, which shows how much they care. Yes, the puppies are expensive, but trust me when I tell you that when it comes to Premier Pups you get what you pay for and you never want to take a chance when adopting a puppy. I used to work in a vet and saw many puppies come into the office that was inexpensively purchased and had a lot of issues, some of which resulted in painful losses for the families. Look at it this way, you can pay for a healthy puppy through a reputable breeder like Premier Pups, or you can go through a cheaper breeder and may end up spending the money you saved in vet fees. We have decided that in the future when we are ready for another furry addition that we will be using Premier Pups. P.S.--This is not an ad. I genuinely want everyone to know about this as I think it would help! In the photo we have posted Margot sleeping soundly with her Snuggle Puppy stuffed animal. Her travel crate works well for me to have her close by when I work. Of course, she also has a traditional crate. Anywho, the Snuggle Puppy simulates a heartbeat and has helped her transition into our home. She adores it, and I recommend it to anyone who is adopting a new furbaby. We found it on Amazon.
Being a college student, I had to do lots of research before getting a puppy. After coming to the conclusion that the cava poo was the best breed for me for a variety of reasons such as my small apartment space, their minimal shedding, and ease at which they can be trained, I began my online search. I went through at least thirty different websites and breeders before deciding that premier pups would be the best. This website is very clear and organized. They answer any and all of your questions. They have great availability and you know exactly what you are getting. Best of all, they have the best pups! I have had my four legged best friend for 3.5 weeks and everyone is very impressed by how well she knows sit, shake, lay down, spin, and high-five. She is a very healthy, sweet, and playful girl. They flew her to me with a kennel, bed, preventative medicines, updated veterinary vaccination documentation, dry and hard food, and a big heart. She adjusted very quickly and has done very well at her vet visits. I am extremely satisfied. I would definitely purchase from premier again in the future and recommend this website to anyone.
We wanted a cavapoo but I couldn't find any cavapoo breeders in my surrounding area. I was very skeptical to purchase a puppy online, but after extensive research (Ohio BBB and online reviews) I decided to take a chance with Premier Pups. Bo was flown in on Delta a day after his 8 week birthday. He was in a nice travel crate with a puppy bed, stuffed animal and also his medical records, medicine, etc. Everything was packaged well with detailed instructions. To my surprise, after such a long flight, he was very calm and clean. Customer care followed-up everyday for the first week. I took him to the vet a week later and he got a clean bill of health. He is a very healthy and active puppy...loves to play and already doing well at potty training. We love him. Thank you, Premier Pups! I will definitely recommend you to friends and family.
We adopted Sebastian a couple months after moving to California from Texas. We are an Air Force family and wanted our 7 year old mini poodle to have a brother/playmate for when we are at work during the day. Sebastian is now 9 months old and 8 pounds. He is a very little pup with a lot of spunk and energy. He was very easy to train and even graduated his 1st level of obedience training and is on to level 2 and doing well. He loves attention and is my favorite cuddlebug! He loves to play with his brother but also enjoys watching cartoons and Star Wars at 8am on Saturday morning. If he doesn't get to watch his cartoons at exactly 8am....he throws a fit lol! He is very vocal and makes the most adorable and odd noises to let you know how he feels. He also has started mimicing the neighbor's cat with meows and will even rub against your leg. It is pretty cute and funny. Our lives and days could not have been more fun without him. I love him to death and am so glad I bought him. I was soooo skeptical at first about his health and getting him from a plane. I thought it was a scam but everything turned out perfect! The company even called a few times to check on him and see if he was doing okay. The only funny thing is that because they feed their food on a white towel, he likes to eat all his food one piece at a time out of his bowl and on the carpet. (He literally will run to his bowl grab a piece of kibble, drop it on the carpet, and then eat.) It is hilarious!
Our Charlotte (Tiara) has been a joy beyond words. We had Yorkshire terriers and love them, we lost our one in 2019 and decided that we wanted another dog. After a ton of research and talking to Cavapoo owners we took the leap. Our research included breeders. I was extremely impressed with Premier Pups. We saw Charlotte and knew she was the one. I was so impressed with all of the staff. When they realized they were dropping off a puppy near us, they offered to drive her to us. I would not hesitate to get another puppy from them.
We had never heard of Premier Pups or the Cava Poo breed prior to this last November when we started thinking about getting a puppy and doing some research. First, I will say we had a phenomenal experience with a Premier Pups, and it's very evident that the pups needs come first. They called us multiple times after we picked Charlie up to check on her! As far as Charlie goes, we never knew we could love a little fur baby so much. She's happy, healthy, social and we just love her so much! We will definitely be return customers when we decide to grow our family in the future!
