If you love small, intelligent dogs, then you will appreciate the amazing attributes of the Cavapoo, a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Poodle. Also, known as the Cavadoodle or Cavoodle, this designer breed originated in Australia and has become incredibly popular in the United States due to their low shedding characteristic and obvious intelligence. Australian breeders began intentionally mixing the Cavalier Spaniel and the Poodle back in the 90s in a bid to create a puppy with the amazing qualities of both breeds.

Appearance and Grooming

This small puppy has a fluffy coat that varies from straight, to wavy or curly. They come in different colors with the most common being black, brown, tricolor, white and yellow. Due to the breed having one parent that does there is a minimal possibility that your puppy may shed. Its coat needs to be frequently brushed to avoid tangles. Brushing also helps to remove dirt, especially around the legs. The fur should be periodically cut throughout the year and more often on the legs, muzzle and around the eyes.

Temperament

Just like their parent the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, they will be a very affectionate dog that loves to be with its family, but like the poodle will require more mental stimulation. These dogs are very connected with their owners and if left alone for long periods of time can become anxious and even form a habit of barking.

Family and Companionship

These loveable lap dogs are great companions and the perfect family pet. They will fit right in to their new environment in no time at all. Fool of energy and always ready to play, these dogs are perfect for children, though because of their small size it is important to supervise during playtime.

Exercise

The Cavapoo is energetic in its nature and therefore requires regular exercise and walks to remain healthy. Playing a game of tug or fetch with them along with a walk will ensure that your puppy’s needs are met. They do not require as much exercise as Poodles, but are a bit more outgoing than Cavaliers.

Training and Socialization

Due to its energetic and social attitude, it is important to regularly socialize your puppy with other dogs and people throughout its life. This is a fun loving and clever dog that can easily be trained and responds well to positive reinforcement from persons who behave fairly toward him and who show consistency and patience. Training in agility and competitive obedience is also great for Cavapoos as they are an intelligent breed that is eager to learn.

Ollie (formerly Winston) is just a fur ball of happiness and sunshine!!! The people at Premier Pups were amazing to work with and delivered the most perfect pup to me. Their care, knowledge, and kindness were all present from my first interaction with them. They obviously love what they are doing and take incredible care of the pups you adopt. They were great with their follow up check in calls to make sure Ollie’s transition was going well. I’d refer Premier Pups in a second!! My little Ollie couldn’t be more perfect!

We fell in love with Premier Pups through a friend of a friend. While searching for months for the best pup and a breeder we could trust, we finally felt comfortable enough to make our purchase with Premier Pups when we saw Decker. We immediately fell in love with his photo. Once we picked him up at the airport, he was just as equally happy to see us and got accustomed right away. We could tell he came from a happy, healthy place! The customer service and followup was great from the staff. We will definitely recommend Premier Pups.

Breed: Cavapoo
Client: Kim Krigsten
Loc: Tempe Az

We are in love! We found Gigi on your website and couldn't live without her! We didn't know what to expect since we've never bought a puppy online. It was so easy! We had her the next day. Premiere Pups has called three times to check on our newest baby, and she was clearly loved. She came with a toy, a leash, food and was delivered with great care. I would recommend Premier Pups to anyone. Customer service was great, and I think we have the cutest puppy I've ever seen. She is a doll! We couldn't be happier!

Name: Carson
Breed: Cavapoo
Client: Zach
Loc: Canton, OH

We adopted Carson, a Cava Poo, on 6/3. He is our first family dog. PremierPups helped us find the right pup for our family and gave us all the information we needed to care for him in the first few days after arriving home. They called to check on Carson three times and provided us with helpful tips. Today, Carson had his vet visit with our family vet and he received a completely clean bill of health. But, best of all, they helped us find an amazing puppy. We love Carson!

Name: April (Known as Karmel on Premier Pups)
Breed: Cavapoo
Client: Allisyn & Alex George
Loc: Woodland Hills, CA

After 2 1/2 years of searching, my husband and I found Premier Pups. We bought April/Karmel in April of 2019 and couldn't have been happier with the service we received. For example, they ended up moving up when they were going to fly her into us by a day and when I called to question them, we found out it was due to a potential storm, and there was a puppy being flown to the same airport so they wanted to fly them out at the same time so they could be with each other. They were so thoughtful and took care of our dog clear to the end. We were also impressed with all the side offers that they had with the kennel, micro-chipping and preventative medications. After getting her, we did a DNA test for her and sure enough she is 50% caviler and 50% poodle through and through!!! People always stop and ask us where we got her and we proudly say we got here from Premier Pups!

I have only had Trixie for a week now, but she is an absolute delight. After a FaceTime session, I knew I had to have her. I made the four hour drive the next day to pick her up. The process from start to finish could not have been easier. Thank you Premiere Pups!

Breed: Cavapoo

Loc: Allendale, New Jersey

My boy Ollie just turned 1 on April 8th! He's 14 pounds of pure joy, I love this lil guy to bits! The folks at Premier Pups were fabulous to work with, so happy I chose to use them. From the delivery of Ollie to New Jersey (during pandemic so no flying), to the daily calls to check in during his first week with me, they were professional, caring and knowledgeable. Ollie is a happy, well adjusted and healthy pup. Can't say enough good things about Premier Pups. They made things so easy :-)

Name: Duke (“Zain”)
Breed: Cavapoo
Client: Rachael
Loc: Dartmouth, MA

It has been 2 months since we brought home Duke (previously named Zain). It was the best decision we made to go with Premier Pups! I was hesitant purchasing a puppy online and had researched so many places/breeders; but I have to say Premier Pups exceeded our expectations! From the beginning, they were supportive, informative, understanding, knowledgeable, and stayed in contact. Duke is extremely healthy, happy, and lovable! He came to us already trained with puppy pads and loved his little bed/crate area. This has made training so easy! Premier pups followed through with everything they stated at the start of the process. Everyone asks where we got Duke because he’s such a great puppy and has remained so healthy! I recommend Premier Pups to anyone looking for a puppy and weary of their local breeders. Duke has been such a glow of joy in our home. Thank you Premier Pups!

Date: 2/13/2018
Name: Millee (formerly Celine)
Breed: Cavapoo
Client: Jennifer Taylor
Loc: Orlando, FL

We could not be happier with our sweet and adorable new puppy! We have 4 children ranging in age from 6 years to 11 months and little Millee had no trouble adjusting! The overall process was so easy and the staff at Premier Pups was always very responsive and helpful. I do suggest doing the FaceTime/video option for at least two pups, as it really made a difference for us and helped us to know we were selecting the best puppy for our family. We will most certainly be referring others to Premier Pups.
