Special Nurturing Notice
Puppies less than 2 lbs require the special care and attention the first 2 weeks in their new home. They need to eat every 2-3 hours, starting with their arrival.
The Maltese is one of the most ancient of the toy breeds with a history that can be traced back over two millennia. Despite their prominence throughout history, the exact origin of the Maltese dog is uncertain. Many believe the breed was developed in the Isle of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea from Spitz- or Spaniel-type dogs. Others believe they were developed in Italy, and still others believe that they came originally from Asia and had a part in developing many of the smaller Asian dogs. English breeders developed the Maltese as we know him now. Many of the Maltese in the United States today trace their heritage back to English imports during the early 1800’s.
Appearance and Grooming
Their gorgeous coats are pure white, silky, and straight, reaching all the way to the ground. They don’t have an undercoat like most breeds so shedding is minimal. Because they lack this undercoat they are intolerant to many outside elements so be sure that it’s not too hot or too cold before taking them outdoors. Because of their pure white coat, staining can be very noticeable. Regular cleaning and brushing, especially around the eyes and feet can prevent discoloration and maintain a beautiful shine. Many owners put the hair on the top of their Maltese's head into a topknot to keep it away from the eyes. If you decide to do this, be sure to use coated bands that won't break the hair. Gum disease is prevalent in this breed so regular brushing of the teeth at least two or three times a week to remove tartar buildup and the bacteria is important. Daily brushing is even better if you want to prevent gum disease and bad breath.
Temperament
These dogs are gentle-mannered, affectionate and without fear. They are among the gentlest mannered of all little dogs, yet they are lively and playful as well as vigorous. Their trusting and tender personalities make them the perfect lap dog and cuddly companion.
Family and Companionship
These dogs thrive in a home with quiet older children or adults only who will treat him with the care they need. Due to their small frame it is not advisable to have them in the same home as small children as play can be too rough on such a delicate dog. They do get along quite well with other dogs and cats if they are socialized to them at an early age.
Exercise
Due to their small stature, these dogs don’t need much in the way of exercise. A brisk 20 to 30 minute walk each day and some moderate play indoors each day will be plenty to keep this dog happy and healthy.
Training and Socialization
These dogs are people-oriented, which makes training a fairly simple process. These dogs respond especially well to positive reinforcements such as treats, praise, and play. Like most every dog, the Maltese needs early socialization including exposure to many different people, sights, sounds, and experiences. Socialization helps ensure that your puppy grows up to be a well-rounded dog.

Hi Everyone, to start of there's absolutely nothing about teacup maltese that doesn't steal anyone's heart! From their long silky coats, expressive little eyes and black button nose this breed of dog is perfect little bundle of energy and love. With that being said hi everyone My name is Roi and i. a proud owner of a teacup maltese named brady, he is so cute and I definitely wouldnt trade him for the world! anyway a lil badkground about me im 24 yrs old and never in my life i ever own a puppy until now and i, glad i made that lofe changing choice and witht be help of premier pup i adopted my kil bundle of joy and i can go on and on about him brc he is such a sweetheart. Words cant explain how satisfied i am that i chose premiere pup. they honestly go above and beyond with their customer sevice skills and every moment of it feels very genuine which I appreciate esp for me having a puppy and adopting one is so foreign so with all of the websites I encountered and yes I encountered some scams out there too about seeling puppies online which is very upsetting so pls beware and your research of your thinking on adopting one but let me tell you premier pup blown all thrm competitors out of the water thats for sure! esp the owner Mike he is extremely helpful and very understanding and quick to respond too with all of my endless concerns about the puppy. He def makes me feel at ease. And also his staff members too are very informative and super nice needless to say they are golden, they make sure they check up on you to see how your doing to me since im new to all of this is very amazing I need all the advise i need! and also their online vet dr ribkhah is very knowledgeable and remarkable he also quick to respond with my concern which is very good and hes very thorough about his response too! With being said I am overflowing with joy right now especially after picking the "one" for me feels very satisfying. Premier pup is a heavent sent. I would definitely reccomend them in a heartbeat thats for sure! They are totally legit and worth your money! Cheers!

Hello, i have previously left a review and said i would come back and provide an update. I have had G for over a year now and he’s weighs 6pds. He’s is an absolutely sweetheart! I loved my experience with Premier Pups, i just wish they wouldn’t advertise the pups as “teacup” when they are not. G was listed as a teacup MaltiPom and he has exceeded the length and weight of “teacups”. No regrets, because I truly love my pup. I just was really looking for a teacup dog at the time and that’s what i expected.

Hard to believe that we purchased Madison almost 4 years ago ! She is such a sweetheart and we couldn't be more pleased with our little Angel and all the happiness that she has brought to our family. She plays like she is still a puppy & has so much energy ! Our vet recommended that we take her off dog food since it contains a lot of dyes to eliminate the tear staining & give her fresh meats & vegetables. We picked Max up on Sunday afternoon (July 30) and he was very unsure. We had a 3 hour ride home and he didn't settle down until we were about an hour into the drive. Once we arrived he peeked up a bit and played with his new toys. We are now 3 days in and Max is eating great and he loves to play!!! He is simply adorable and we are totally in love!!!
