They require a moderate amount of exercise. Two to three daily walks as well as some active play should be plenty to keep this pup busy. They’re always up for an adventure and make for great running partners. They also love hikes and swimming!
Because they are a mixed breed they are not recognized by the AKC and therefore cannot be registered.
These beauties come in pure black, black-and-white, black-and-brown or tri-color (black, white and brown).
These dogs make for the ultimate companion as they are friendly, playful, affectionate and sociable dogs. They are great choice for a family with children and/or elderly parents as they have a gentle demeanor.
Yes! In fact, they make excellent therapy dogs as they are easy to train, very intelligent, extremely gentle and love to work.
A Teddy Bear Bernadoodle is a mix of a Miniature Bernedoodle and an Australian Bernedoodle, they are smaller than the mini and more compact and square.
Miniature Bernedoodle’s are very low shedding. The curlier the coat, the less shedding will occur. It is recommended to brush them once or twice a week and have them professionally groomed every 8 to 12 weeks.
Dogs just like people have their own personalities, so one can never be 100% certain. In general, however, Bernedoodle’s get along great with other dogs no matter the breed. Never leave dogs unsupervised until you are certain they get along.
Because of their active nature, Miniature Bernedoodle’s are a great fit for families with children or active singles. They are also a great companion for seniors who like to get out for daily walks and exercise.
The average life expectancy is between 12-15 years of age, though it is not uncommon for them to live upwards of 17 years.
Their coats can vary depending on which parent they take after more. Their coat can be straight to wavy to curly. The curlier the coat, the less shedding will occur.
Socialization is so important for a new puppy. It is recommended that they are socialized in a safe and secure area until your little one has been fully immunized (approximately 16 weeks old).

Loving our new puppy Mocha. She is sweet and playful!
We are very pleased with our new puppy. The vet commented as to how healthy he is. His heart and lungs sound strong. The puppy trainer remarked that he has great hips because of the “Superman” way he lays with his hind legs behind him. He is on his way to becoming an Emotional Support Animal.
We picked up our first mini bernedoodle, Cooper, from Premier Pups back in November (dog pictured on the right). He fit perfectly into our family and had an awesome temperament! This was especially evident with our two young children! We noticed quickly he was very playful and social and loved meeting/playing with dogs in our neighborhood. We tossed around the idea of getting him a puppy friend and one day I was browsing Premier Pup’s webpage and saw Dex. I knew he was the one! We went and picked him up on May 24th. We named him Toby and couldn’t wait to bring him home to meet Cooper! They were instant buddies and it has been so neat to watch them together. We absolutely love our mini bernedoodles and have had TWO very positive experiences at Premier Pups! I’d like to personally thank Andrew for being so personable and helpful at our most recent visit to Premier Pups!
Extremely happy with our experience at Premier Pups. The process was smooth and we were sent home with great information and steps on how to care for our pup for the first few weeks. We were a little nervous at first because we did not know anything about Premier Pups but we called our Veterinarian and he said he has never heard anything bad about Premier Pups and have never seen any sick puppies from them either. Our puppy is healthy and happy.
Like many people on here, I was very reluctant to purchase a puppy online. We lost our family dog of 17 years about a year and a half ago but finally felt I was ready to add another fur baby to the family. I have been in love with this breed for years but could not find any close to me other than at puppy mills which I did not want to support. So after months of landing on premierpups.com, I bit the bullet and chose a puppy. My granddaughter accompanied me on the 7 hour drive to meet our lovely little lady. I wasn’t comfortable with her flying so young so I opted to pick her up. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Although we did not see or hear any puppies but ours, the facility was clean and the staff was very kind. They answered all my questions, followed up several times once we arrived home ( no car sickness!!) and genuinely seemed to care. I had Sadie checked by our vet and she has a clean bill of health!! I couldn’t be happier with my experience. And I couldn’t be more in love with this precious gal!!
Tucker came home at 8 weeks in May 2019 and we absolutely fell in love with him! We were weary of the whole flying process and buying a puppy online but it actually worked out flawlessly. I encourage everyone to consider premier pups. Tucker is a healthy, fun, and loving baby boy. He’s currently 21 lbs at 5.5 months. Good luck finding your love bug!
2 years later I still have the best dog in the entire world!! Thank you premier pups you are top notch!! Everything about my experience was perfect!! I refer to you guys often and will be a return client ??
This was love at first sight! The experience has been wonderful. Her Vet was impressed with the paperwork and the care and condition of Charlee. She is a sweet (and a little crazy) puppy. She plays hard and she sleeps well! I have wanted a puppy for quite some time. Charlee was worth the wait. My Grandchildren keep thanking me for getting THEM a puppy! This little girl is loved by all. Thank you Premier Pups...I have highly recommended you to anyone who asks, and they all ask!
I am so glad that we bought Bella from premier pups. They are professional and communicate well. I absolutely love everything about this breed. My kids and I are in love with our new family member.
Frankie was adjusted right away. A very smart breed. Potty trained fast. Premier pups were great with communicating from flights, medications, to several follow ups on making sure our new family member was doing great. Best experience on getting a puppy.

The Miniature Bernedoodle is a beautiful crossbreed between the Miniature Poodle and the Bernese Mountain dog, both originated from France and Switzerland respectively. One look at this breed and you may think it was bred for its striking physical appearance; contrary to this, the Mini Bernedoodle was actually bred for its low shedding capability as this makes it a tad hypoallergenic and suitable for dog lovers with allergies. They are very intelligent, playful, affectionate and a bit shy.
- A first generation, known as F1 is a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog cross bred with a Miniature Poodle.
- The second generation, known as F1B is an F1 cross bred with a Miniature Poodle.
- The third generation, known as F2, is when a puppy has two Mini Bernadoodle parents.
Appearance and Grooming
These puppies have a low to non-shedding coat that makes them an ideal breed for people with allergies. Its coat that comes in various mixes of black, white and brown, is similar to its parent the Bernese Mountain Dog which, is generally straight to wavy and requires regular maintainence to avoid tangles and knots. Its teeth need to be brushed once per week and its nails trimmed once per month. Shedding is minimal for the most part.
The Miniature Bernedoodle tends to be more active than the larger Bernedoodle breeds due to the toy or miniature poodle being more of an active breed. Its highly-affectionate and loving personality makes it a less suitable guard dog as it becomes friends with every stranger.
Family and Companionship
This is an ideal dog for anyone that is looking for companionship as it suits everyone. They are extremely child friendly and do very well with other family pets. Though they are happy at home they exhibit shyness, so regular socialization and exercise is encouraged.
When your puppy gets to be fully grown it will need at least an hour of exercise every day. This is best divided between walks and play. Because of its long and thick coat it is very easy for these dogs to become quickly overheated. When temperatures are warm, be sure to find a cool shaded place to exercise your pup. If you want to take your puppy hiking or swimming, it will gladly join you. After all, it has a mountain dog as a parent, so it will feel at ease exploring the outdoors together with its owner.
Training and Socialization
Both the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle are two very clever dog breeds. So, you can expect for the Mini Bernedoodle to be just as intelligent as its parents making training a simple process. Keep in mind that your puppy can also exhibit a strong willed and stubborn persona, so patience is expected. Starting socialization and consistent training at an early age will ensure a well-mannered and educated companion.
