Special Nurturing Notice
Puppies less than 2 lbs require the special care and attention the first 2 weeks in their new home. They need to eat every 2-3 hours, starting with their arrival.
A crossbreed between the Maltese and the Yorkshire Terrier, the Morkie, also affectionately known as the Yorktese or Morkshire Terrier was first bred in the 1990’s here in the United States as a designer puppy. Since then it has gained considerable popularity for its perfect combination of intelligence and beauty. While, these dogs make for sweet, loyal and loveable pets, they can often become quite bullheaded and territorial if not properly trained early on. Prior experience with a smaller breed is recommended.
Appearance and Grooming
Though the coats tend to be soft, rather long and hypoallergenic with colors typically ranging from solid white to black and tan and every color and combination in between, it is difficult to predict each litter. The unpredictable diversity is what makes these pooches so desirable. Regardless of its coat, this crossbreed needs to be brushed several times a week to keep the coat from matting or tangling. In addition to routine brushing, regular bathing is important to keep their coat healthy and lush.
Despite their tiny size this breed makes for a spirited and intelligent pet. Its inherited sense of fearlessness and energy from its Maltese parent shines through as these dogs are easily excitable and happy to greet anybody they meet. Underneath all of that energy and sometimes mischief these dogs are true lap dogs with a truly sweet and loving nature.
Family and Companionship
It is an obedient and loyal pup and its friendly personality helps it to make fast connections. It doesn’t like to be alone and suffers when it’s not appreciated and loved. It loves to play or curl up on the couch for a nap and requires frequent human companionship. Its loyalty and devotion tends to make this devoted dog very protective of its owner and family. As an adaptable and easy going pooch and while their size makes them ideal pets for apartment dwellers, they can be a problem for your neighbors as they love to bark. When left alone, this little yapper will bark until someone comes home to be with him, which doesn’t bode well for good relationships with close neighbors. This loveable ball of fluff is perfect for an owner who can take them wherever they go.
This breed doesn’t require too much exercise. A couple of brisk walks throughout the day and some active play time will provide the exercise your puppy needs to stay healthy and fit. Morkies should never be left off leash to or unattended during outside play unless they are in a securely fenced in area. If you live in an area where birds of prey are known to roam, you must pay particular attention not to leave your pooch unattended.
Training and Socialization
It has the Yorkshire’s intelligence and therefore is easily trainable, however it can be a little bit stubborn which may require a gentle, firm and patient trainer. It is imperative for it to be properly trained at a young age. These pint size puppies have strong personality traits and think they are much larger than they actually are and as such may try to dominate their owner and smaller animals.

My family and I are so blessed we found/bought Noah. He's a real sweet, loving, playful, kid friendly puppy. I had the best experience with premier pup. Noah has adjusted well at our home. Thank you for giving me Noah, we all just love him, So glad he's apart of my family.
It’s been about 6 weeks since Kenzie has been home with us. It took her almost 15 minutes to get start running around after we got home from the airport! She is just a ball of energy and love! She is a little bit stubborn at times, but is learning pretty quick. I don’t think we could’ve found a more cute or healthy puppy.
I had been searching for a puppy for awhile and was nervous about finding the right place to get a puppy from online. I am very glad I found Premier Pups, the entire process was very smooth and efficient. As you can see from the picture, Piper is doing wonderful. She is a joy to have around and very spoiled already!!
He is my first puppy ever owned in our household since my parents never wanted a pet until I was able to afford and take care of it myself. I am not a college graduate and have a big kid job so the first thing I did was get my darling best friend Bean. He is now 6 months old and is full grown according to the vetrinarian and doing fabulous. He was timid at first and still somewhat is to new people when outside of the home but is absolutely loving to anyone who visits our home and to our family. He is extremely playful and loves all of his toys especially his little dog blanket that came home with him. I am extremely thrilled with my decision to get a pet for my first real purchase and premier pups couldn't have been more helpful with my questions and supply gathering prior to bringing him home. I know that when I am ready in the future to get him a friend I will definitely be going back to Premier Pups.
I am so thankful that we came across Premier Pups. We have been blessed with our new addition to our family. We enjoy her so much. The interaction with everyone at Premier Pups was absolutely amazing. I was anxious at first never having a pup as small as Charleigh but after talking with them I felt a huge weight lifted off of me and confident. She has been a true blessing to our family. Oh did I mention how well she adapted to her new home? She came home on Dec 23rd at 1 lb 13 oz and is now just over 3 lbs. Premier Pups will always be a 5* in my books!! Can’t thank everyone there enough ??
My husband and I have been wanting a new puppy for a while now (we have two little 5 lb Yorkies). We were at a pet supplies place by our house and saw this guy holding this tiny adorable puppy and decided to ask him where he got him. He told us all about Premier Pups and how great you were! So we went on the website and i automatically fell in love with "Tara" . My husband told me to find another option just in case and we also fell in love with "hope" a little teacup Maltese. But as much as i loved Hope i couldn't stop thinking about Tara! so we got Tara and when we picked her up from the airport on 3/2/2017 she was this adorable precious pup!! We are so in love with her and so happy with our choice! she is such a loving spunky puppy and our family is all in love with her! She came in the cutest carrier and had everything we needed! Premier pups were so great through this whole process and we are just so happy !! We will be getting any future pups from you from now on! our extended families are now wanting one so i'm sure you'll be getting their business soon! :) We also already took her to our local vet and she is completely healthy (they were also in love with her) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
We adopted Chloe (formerly Danielle) in September. She is such a spunky little girl with personality galore. She and our 10 year old Maltese are becoming friends and the kids love to play with her. We were hesitant at first to choose a puppy only with a photo and to ship such a little puppy on a plane, but she is healthy as can be. We couldn't be happier with our decision.
Mika has brought so much joy to our family as well as our 10.5 yr old dog. Her brother passed away and fell under depression until mika came along to brighten her day! Thank you premier pups for keeping an eye on during her transition phase and answering all my questions!
Our family is just over-the-moon with this pint size little guy. He has such an amazingly unique personality. We could not be any happier. Thank you premier pups!
I had gotten a teacup Morkie 8 months ago, we named her (hyper) Piper.. She’s a handful haha! I was overly happy with the way this company handled the travel and advice/check up phone calls even a weeks after I got her. At 8 months Piper grew to be bigger than what I had expected in a “teacup”. Almost 8lbs... still small but, not what I wanted. I contacted Premier Pups regarding my disappointment and they (Matthew) worked diligently with me to get me a puppy that would be more suitable fit for me. I happened to see a Micro teacup Morkie on the site so I called them immediately. Soon she would be mine. Her name is Mila and I am over the moon in love with her! She is 3.5 months old, 1.8oz, doing well and has the most pleasant personality. She is so mild mannered and has such a sweet demeanor, I feel so blessed and lucky I found her! Thanks to Premier Pups and staff for making my experience with you a great one! I would without a doubt, refer your company and use you again in the future however, right now, my hands and heart are full with two!
