Q: Our shorkie pup is 13 weeks old. I know that they can get the little eye boogers but should it be green? It was clear and now she gets big green eye boogers in the corner of her eyes. Is this normal or is there anything I can do?
A: What you describe is not normal although there could be many possible causes including, but not limited to infection, environmental irritation, abnormal or excessive lashes or hair. You can start by cleaning her eye area with ophthalmic saline (at your pharmacy) 3 times a day. Let your vet know even if the cleaning improves the situation.
