Itchy Ear

Q: My puppy is 3 months old, he is a micro teacup yorkie and he has been to the vet for every check up and vaccine. Yesterday he started scratching at his right ear and yelping a little and today it send to be worse. No visible signs of any problems not sure what it could be.
A: The horizontal part of the ear canal is not visible without an otoscope so many ear infections especially early ones have no outward sign. It could just be early inflammation from moisture in his ear. You can use an OTC ear cleaner that is not water based. That may help and it will not hurt. Also he could have molars erupting which could cause him to scratch that area. Take a look at his teeth on that side.
