Ideal temperature

Q: I live in Phoenix, and my pup will be an inside dog for the most part. Can a dog overheat? What should the inside temperature be of your home for puppies in the summer?
A: Yes puppies can overheat. Any temperature above 80 F can lead to heat stress especially when combined with humidity above 70%. If you are hot so is your puppy, and the younger the puppy the less tolerant they are of high temperatures. So far as indoor temperatures your puppy can acclimate to most any temperature from the high 60's to the low 80's.
