Q: My 11 week maltese poodle has no interest in going potty in the palace. I have been trying to get him to go potty on the deck on grass as his former home had trained him to go when outside just fine. How do I establish that his crate is his potty place after accidents without making the crate a place of punishment at the same time?

A: It sounds like you should focus on the grass pad and outdoors. At his age you might want to have the pad and tray outside of the cage if will accept that better.
