Potty training

April 21, 2021, 1:04 AM
Q: We are a little confused. The puppy palace set up includes both a food dish & a water bottle that we have set up in anticipation of our new puppy coming home. But, the Doctor's advice on crate training is that that space should be for sleeping only. What is it that we are not understanding about the set up and use? Thanks.
A: There are two approaches to potty training. One is the confined space theory where you restrict the puppy's area in hopes that that they won't want to soil it.  The idea behind the palace is to give the puppy a place to eliminate until they gain control over elimination which is usually around 16 weeks.  Let me know your goals and I can advise.
