Q: My 11 week old cocker spaniel has been improving with going to her puppy pads during play- over the last few days, she has done 2 different things: she started sneaking behind the chair to potty and she has started tearing up her pads when she is in her crate/pen area. How do I break her of these two things?

A: If she is not reliably going to the pad every time then her area has to be reduced.  You can do that the easiest by adding and exercise pen.   Not much can be done about tearing up the pad.
