The Miniature Bernedoodle is a beautiful crossbreed between the Miniature Poodle and the Bernese Mountain dog, both originated from France and Switzerland respectively. One look at this breed and you may think it was bred for its striking physical appearance; contrary to this, the Mini Bernedoodle was actually bred for its low shedding capability as this makes it a tad hypoallergenic and suitable for dog lovers with allergies. They are very intelligent, playful, affectionate and a bit shy.
- A first generation, known as F1 is a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog cross bred with a Miniature Poodle.
- The second generation, known as F1B is an F1 cross bred with a Miniature Poodle.
- The third generation, known as F2, is when a puppy has two Mini Bernadoodle parents.
Appearance and Grooming
These puppies have a low to non-shedding coat that makes them an ideal breed for people with allergies. Its coat that comes in various mixes of black, white and brown, is similar to its parent the Bernese Mountain Dog which, is generally straight to wavy and requires regular maintainence to avoid tangles and knots. Its teeth need to be brushed once per week and its nails trimmed once per month. Shedding is minimal for the most part.
The Miniature Bernedoodle tends to be more active than the larger Bernedoodle breeds due to the toy or miniature poodle being more of an active breed. Its highly-affectionate and loving personality makes it a less suitable guard dog as it becomes friends with every stranger.
Family and Companionship
This is an ideal dog for anyone that is looking for companionship as it suits everyone. They are extremely child friendly and do very well with other family pets. Though they are happy at home they exhibit shyness, so regular socialization and exercise is encouraged.
When your puppy gets to be fully grown it will need at least an hour of exercise every day. This is best divided between walks and play. Because of its long and thick coat it is very easy for these dogs to become quickly overheated. When temperatures are warm, be sure to find a cool shaded place to exercise your pup. If you want to take your puppy hiking or swimming, it will gladly join you. After all, it has a mountain dog as a parent, so it will feel at ease exploring the outdoors together with its owner.
Training and Socialization
Both the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle are two very clever dog breeds. So, you can expect for the Mini Bernedoodle to be just as intelligent as its parents making training a simple process. Keep in mind that your puppy can also exhibit a strong willed and stubborn persona, so patience is expected. Starting socialization and consistent training at an early age will ensure a well-mannered and educated companion.

Sadie is my best buddy!! Premier Pups took great care getting Sadie to me! Sadie is loving, smart, caring, joyful and the best four legged friend anyone could ever have!! Some day I would like to get a partner for Sadie and Premier Pups is where I will get him!! I call Sadie my comfort dog! She can sense when you are feeling a little low. She will weasel her way on to your lap where you cannot fight the urge to wrap your arms around her and hug it out!! Premier Pups you are NUMBER 1 in my book!!
Coco is such a love and wonderful addition to our family. Loves the beach, making friends, walks, kisses and just hanging out........premier pups are the best! Thank you ??????
On March 16th my wife and I drove to Premier Pups in Johnstown, OH from Long Island to pick up our Mini Brenedoodle Dakota now known as "Raynger". Everyone said "getting a puppy will change your life". I just want you all to know how much it really did. Although my wife had many dogs growing up, I am 55 years old and have never had a dog before. From the second Kaycee handed me this puppy in Ohio, our lives have changed, all for the better. She was an absolute angle on the 10+ hour ride back to NY. Our first vet visit went great. Since then we have recognized what a happy, healthy, fun loving and smart puppy she really is. She is pretty much house trained in the first month. She has learned to sit and stay. She is a doll with our two sons as well as the neighborhood children, is great with other dogs and loves the beach. She has taken her place as a member of the family. From our first contact with Adoption Agent Donato, to our pick up experience with Kacee, to the calls and texts with the Follow up Care Specialist Matt, this has been a first class adoption experience. Thank you so much Christopher & Roseann Cashin
This is wrigley born 12/1/2019 (aka Henry). He arrived via plane to our home the beginning of February prior to Covid (thank goodness!).. Wrigley is a F1B mini bernedoodle. He is almost 8 months now and has grown from 6.5 pounds to 20 pounds. He is twice the size of our previous dog a maltipoo. We were concerned about size but totally love his size! He is tall and love hoe he flops on the floor with his feet hanging out the back! This breed is so smart as his trainer has pointed out in his puppy school - he learns so fast! We are dealing with separation anxiety because he has had everyone at home during Covid but we will get through this! He does like to explore everything and that means don't leave small items on the floor. He is finally learning leave it command but now he just takes things like shoes to get our attention. A fabulous breed for families and I can see that he will be perfect for us because we are aging as well - wants to be with us and cuddling is priceless! No smells no shedding and coat is easy to care for....only have to bathe every 3-4 months. Oh...and he loves to watch his Chicago cubs and howls when he heats the crack of the bat and actively watches the games. Thank you premier pups for a fabulous experience choosing our new family member!
Tilly (formerly Sedona) has been a wonderful addition to our family. I can’t thank everyone enough from Premier Pups for such a smooth transition. From Lacie going above and beyond on her days off to text me with figuring out flights to the rest of the staff continuing to check in with me. They are absolutely wonderful! We love our little Tilly bean ?? Thank you Premier Pups!!
We’ve had a fantastic experience with Premier thus far, and our little bernedoodle Doug couldn’t be better!
We love our new dog Stella Blue formerly Dora. She is doing great! She is a wonderful addition to our family.
Our Murphy is 2 yrs old and doing great!! He is a sweet, playful dog who loves his toys especially his ball. True to his breed he can be stubborn but he has trained very well. He is a cuddler and loves people. He lets our granddaughter give him hugs and kisses, and takes pets wherever we go. Very pleased with our experience and the support. Worth every penny.
Izzy has been a treat since the day we picked her up at the Airport in Charlotte, NC. She is a Pettite Mini Bernedoodle born 11/18/2019 and she is the perfect size. She is very social and loves meeting other dogs of any size. She is 9 moths old and weighs about 14lbs.
