Premier Pups 10-Year Health Guarantee Explained

Premier Pups 10-Year Health Guarantee Explained
Published Thursday, August 14, 2025 by Elena R. in Dog News, Dog Care & Safety, New Puppy

Good health is something you plan for. At Premier Pups, we’ve built our 10-Year Health Guarantee to reflect that. Each of our puppies is examined nose to tail by a licensed veterinarian before adoption, kept current on vaccinations and deworming, and monitored closely for any signs of concern. We share those records openly, so families know exactly how their puppy is doing before they come home.

Our guarantee covers the critical first 10 days after adoption and protects against contagious illnesses as your puppy settles in. It also extends up to 10 years for specific genetic conditions that could affect their quality of life down the road.

We’ve seen what happens when breeders or sellers take shortcuts. In the puppy world, cutting corners can lead to illness, stress, and heartbreak for both the dog and the family. That’s why every part of our process, from the careful pairing of parents to ongoing veterinary oversight, is designed to prevent problems before they start. This guarantee about giving your puppy the strongest possible foundation and giving you the reassurance that their wellbeing has been our priority from day one.

This is our safeguard for your puppy’s future, backed by responsible breeding practices, thorough health protocols, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Healthy puppies grow into happy companions, and that’s where it all begins.

The Foundation: Healthy Parents, Healthy Puppies

A 10-year health guarantee only works if it’s built on a solid foundation. For us, that starts long before a litter is born, with the health, genetics, and overall wellbeing of the parent dogs. Every decision made at this stage shapes the quality of life each puppy will have, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Healthy Parent Dogs

We work only with responsible breeders who meet our highest standards, both in experience and in ethics. These are long-standing relationships built on trust, accountability, and a shared commitment to raising healthy, well-adjusted puppies. We visit our breeders in person regularly, not just to check a box, but to see firsthand that every dog is living their best life in a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.

Before a breeding is ever planned, each parent dog goes through a full panel of health evaluations. This includes genetic testing to identify potential hereditary risks, OFA-certified orthopedic screenings to check for joint and bone health, and thorough veterinary exams to confirm overall wellness. We review results carefully and match dogs to protect long-term health and reduce the risk of preventable conditions.

These steps take time, but they’re the reason we can stand behind every puppy with confidence. Healthy parents are the best start a puppy can have, and we don’t compromise on that.

Our Healthy Puppies

premier pups nose to tail health inspections for every puppy

From the moment they’re born, our puppies receive hands-on care and continuous monitoring. In their first weeks, they stay with their mom and litter mates. They benefit from their mother’s warmth, milk, and natural guidance. We check each puppy nose to tail at birth and continue with routine evaluations to track their weight, development, and overall condition at every stage

Our breeders work closely with our veterinary team during this time, flagging even the smallest change so nothing is overlooked. These early weeks are also when puppies start to experience gentle handling and interaction. This lays the groundwork for a confident, social temperament.

By the time our Premier Pups puppies are ready to go home to their forever family, they have been through multiple health checks, are current on vaccinations and deworming, and have a complete medical record that we share openly with their new family. That transparency matters. It’s how you know your puppy has been given the healthiest possible start.

The First Year: Covered When It Matters Most

premier experience at premier pups

The first year is when a puppy does the most growing in size, strength, and personality. It’s also the stage when certain genetic or congenital conditions, if present, are most likely to show. Our health guarantee includes protection for the entire first year against these types of conditions and gives families a solid layer of reassurance during this important time

If something is diagnosed, the focus can stay on getting the right treatment and keeping your puppy comfortable, not on the stress of unexpected medical costs. We know how quickly worry can set in when a vet finds something, and this part of our guarantee exists to take some of that weight off your shoulders.

Every puppy we send home has already been through thorough veterinary checks and comes from parents screened for health issues, which greatly reduces the chances of problems appearing. But if something does come up, this coverage means you’re not alone in facing it.

For us, it’s about following through on the promise we make from the very start: that your puppy’s wellbeing matters as much to us as it does to you. The first year is the foundation for a lifetime together, and we stand behind it fully.

What Our 10-Year Health Guarantee Covers

A guarantee only matters if it’s real, and ours is. At Premier Pups, our 10-Year Health Guarantee is built to give your puppy the best start in life and to give you clear, dependable support if a health issue ever arises. It’s not a formality. It’s part of how we protect both the dog you love and the bond you share.

We offer this guarantee because we know the care that goes into raising our puppies. But we also know that health challenges, while rare, can happen even in the best circumstances. If they do, families shouldn’t feel unprepared or alone. That’s why our coverage is detailed, transparent, and designed to help in meaningful ways.

Here’s what it includes:

Puppy Replacement Program (10 Years) – If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses your puppy with a hereditary or congenital condition that limits their ability to live a normal, healthy life, and major medical pet insurance has been maintained for the first six months, we’ll provide a store credit equal to your puppy’s original adoption price. This credit never expires, and gives you the flexibility to choose the right time for a future puppy.

Medical Reimbursement Program – For covered hereditary or congenital conditions, we’ll reimburse you up to the full value of your puppy. That includes 100% of your deductible (up to $300) and 100% of your co-pay (up to 20%) for approved claims, as long as your major medical pet insurance remains active. Some conditions like cancer, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and seizures, remain eligible for reimbursement for up to three years from your puppy’s birth date

Initial Illness Protection – Every Premier Pups puppy comes home free from illness. If a sickness-related loss occurs within the first 10 days, we’ll provide a replacement puppy under the replacement program. If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses an illness during this time and insurance was active before arrival, we’ll reimburse 100% of your deductible and co-pay

Support in the Event of Loss – If a puppy passes away unexpectedly, a necropsy is required to confirm cause of death for a full replacement claim. If a necropsy is not performed, we offer a 50% discount (up to $2,000) toward a future puppy. Families with active Fetch pet insurance may also qualify for an additional $1,000 reimbursement

Corrective Care Assistance – If hip dysplasia is diagnosed during the first six months of coverage, a condition many insurance providers exclude, you may still qualify for reimbursement up to your puppy’s full value if corrective surgery is performed and coverage was active at diagnosis.

Our goal is simple: to make sure no family faces a serious health concern alone. From the first day home to years down the road, this guarantee is our way of standing with you and your puppy, every step of the way.

Why It Works: Prevention Over Cure

premier pups commitment to quality

The best way to solve a problem is to make sure it never happens. That’s the philosophy behind our entire approach at Premier Pups, and it’s why our 10-Year Health Guarantee works

Every step we take before a puppy goes home is about prevention. It starts with the careful selection of breeding parents, dogs that have been health-tested, genetically screened, and cleared by licensed veterinarians. We work only with reputable breeders who follow structured, responsible practices and who understand that quality breeding is about patience, knowledge, and consistency, not rushing for quick results.

From there, puppies receive close, daily oversight. They are examined multiple times in their early weeks, weighed regularly, and monitored for healthy growth. Their diet, environment, and socialization are all part of a plan to give them the strongest start possible.

By the time your puppy is ready to meet you, they’ve already had full veterinary evaluations, up-to-date vaccinations, and thorough deworming treatments. We share all those records openly, so you know exactly how your puppy has been cared for.

This level of preparation is what makes our guarantee so effective. It’s about building a foundation where problems are far less likely to appear in the first place. And in those rare cases where a health concern does come up, the guarantee is there to make sure you have the support you need.

The Veterinary Partnership

Bringing a puppy home is an exciting moment, but it’s also a time to make sure their health is right where it should be. That’s why our 10-Year Health Guarantee begins with a simple but important requirement: your puppy must visit a licensed veterinarian within the first few days of arriving home

This step does more than confirm what we’ve already documented in our own health checks. It gives your veterinarian a baseline for your puppy’s care going forward. They’ll get to know your puppy’s weight, heart, joints, and overall condition from the very start, which makes it easier to catch small issues early and track growth over time.

It also protects your family. By having an independent professional verify your puppy’s health right away, you can move forward with complete confidence, knowing their wellbeing has been checked twice in quick succession. If anything unexpected does come up, the guarantee is in place to guide the next steps without delay

The partnership doesn’t end after that first appointment. Ongoing veterinary care is the key to keeping your guarantee valid and to keeping your puppy thriving for years to come. Regular checkups, vaccinations, and preventative treatments not only fulfill the terms of the guarantee but also ensure your dog stays happy, healthy, and by your side for a long, full life.

Why This Guarantee is Different

In the puppy world, a “health guarantee” can mean many things. Some last only a few weeks, covering little beyond an initial check for visible concerns. Others expire before a puppy has even reached maturity, leaving families unprotected against conditions that may surface later in life.

The Premier Pups 10-Year Health Guarantee was built with a different standard in mind. It begins with the first days at home, continues through the first full year, and extends well into your dog’s life. Behind it is a process grounded in careful pairing of parents, comprehensive health testing, and consistent veterinary oversight, all with the goal of preventing health issues before they arise.

The result is the confidence that comes from knowing your puppy’s health has been planned for and protected from the very start, and that support will still be there years after the day you bring them home.

How the Premier Pups Guarantee Compares

Premier Pups 10-Year Health Guarantee  Typical Breeder “Guarantee”
Length of Coverage Up to 10 years for specific genetic conditions, with immediate protection in the first days and months. Often limited to 30 days to 1 year, ending before many genetic conditions appear.
Approach to Health Preventative: starts with carefully selected parents, genetic screening, and ongoing veterinary oversight. Primarily reactive: coverage only applies after a problem is diagnosed.
Scope of Coverage Includes both short-term illness protection and long-term safeguards for hereditary conditions. Usually limited to replacement of the puppy, without support for medical care or treatment.
Transparency Full veterinary records shared before adoption, so families know their puppy’s health status. Minimal or no medical records provided before purchase.
Support Ongoing guidance and resources for maintaining your puppy’s health throughout their life. Limited or no follow-up support once the sale is complete.
Philosophy Designed to protect the puppy’s wellbeing first, while giving families lasting peace of mind. Designed primarily to limit the seller’s liability.

Conclusion: Protection, Trust, and Care That Lasts

Our 10-Year Health Guarantee is built on the same principles that guide everything we do: planning ahead, doing things the right way, and putting every puppy’s wellbeing first. It’s there to protect your dog’s future, but also to reflect the care that starts long before you get to cuddle them.

We encourage families to read it in full and compare it to others. The difference becomes clear in the details, the health checks, the breeding standards, and the transparency that run through every step

Bringing a puppy into your home is a big decision. This guarantee is our way of standing behind that decision with you, so you can focus on what matters most: giving your dog a happy, healthy life.
