Special Nurturing Notice
Puppies less than 2 lbs require the special care and attention the first 2 weeks in their new home. They need to eat every 2-3 hours, starting with their arrival.
A crossbreed between the Maltese and the Yorkshire Terrier, the Morkie, also affectionately known as the Yorktese or Morkshire Terrier was first bred in the 1990’s here in the United States as a designer puppy. Since then it has gained considerable popularity for its perfect combination of intelligence and beauty. While, these dogs make for sweet, loyal and loveable pets, they can often become quite bullheaded and territorial if not properly trained early on. Prior experience with a smaller breed is recommended.
Appearance and Grooming
Though the coats tend to be soft, rather long and hypoallergenic with colors typically ranging from solid white to black and tan and every color and combination in between, it is difficult to predict each litter. The unpredictable diversity is what makes these pooches so desirable. Regardless of its coat, this crossbreed needs to be brushed several times a week to keep the coat from matting or tangling. In addition to routine brushing, regular bathing is important to keep their coat healthy and lush.
Despite their tiny size this breed makes for a spirited and intelligent pet. Its inherited sense of fearlessness and energy from its Maltese parent shines through as these dogs are easily excitable and happy to greet anybody they meet. Underneath all of that energy and sometimes mischief these dogs are true lap dogs with a truly sweet and loving nature.
Family and Companionship
It is an obedient and loyal pup and its friendly personality helps it to make fast connections. It doesn’t like to be alone and suffers when it’s not appreciated and loved. It loves to play or curl up on the couch for a nap and requires frequent human companionship. Its loyalty and devotion tends to make this devoted dog very protective of its owner and family. As an adaptable and easy going pooch and while their size makes them ideal pets for apartment dwellers, they can be a problem for your neighbors as they love to bark. When left alone, this little yapper will bark until someone comes home to be with him, which doesn’t bode well for good relationships with close neighbors. This loveable ball of fluff is perfect for an owner who can take them wherever they go.
This breed doesn’t require too much exercise. A couple of brisk walks throughout the day and some active play time will provide the exercise your puppy needs to stay healthy and fit. Morkies should never be left off leash to or unattended during outside play unless they are in a securely fenced in area. If you live in an area where birds of prey are known to roam, you must pay particular attention not to leave your pooch unattended.
Training and Socialization
It has the Yorkshire’s intelligence and therefore is easily trainable, however it can be a little bit stubborn which may require a gentle, firm and patient trainer. It is imperative for it to be properly trained at a young age. These pint size puppies have strong personality traits and think they are much larger than they actually are and as such may try to dominate their owner and smaller animals.

Thom was originally purchased by a friend for her family, but caught a snag in finding a place that allowed pets. We were looking for a brother for our Maltese Biggie and our Sibe Joni so we thought Thom would be perfect! The three siblings have been inseparable ever since! Thom is the sweetest and so smart and playful! We thank you so much for being such a reputable site and definitely will be back just in case we want a sister for the pack ;)
I am so thankful that we came across Premier Pups. We have been blessed with our new addition to our family. We enjoy her so much. The interaction with everyone at Premier Pups was absolutely amazing. I was anxious at first never having a pup as small as Charleigh but after talking with them I felt a huge weight lifted off of me and confident. She has been a true blessing to our family. Oh did I mention how well she adapted to her new home? She came home on Dec 23rd at 1 lb 13 oz and is now just over 3 lbs. Premier Pups will always be a 5* in my books!! Can’t thank everyone there enough ??
I have had Noah for a week today and can't stop staring at him. He is the most adorable pup ever!!!! I was extremely nervous about flying a pet. But, when he came in he was fine! I didn't realize that it is actually a cargo facility that he was going to be brought to versus actually going to the airport to pick him up. But, it worked out fine. He has only had 2 accidents and is a good eater. I don't know that the name should be Premierpups.com, adorablepups.com fits better. The pups are pretty pricy, but well worth it. The staff are very helpful and willing to do anything to assist with the process. I am in love with Noah and he is already spoiled!!!! I've recommended everyone I talk to about your company! Thank you so much for my new baby!
We were looking for a playmate for our 2YR old Maltipoo , because we had recently loss two of our other dogs. My sister came across Benji (aka:Damon) on the site and thought he would be a good fit for us. After seeing his cute little face there was no question that my husband and I wanted to bring him home. We've only had Benji a month, but it seems like he's been here forever. He is getting along fine with his two big brothers and all is well. I would definitely recommend premier pups to anyone who is interested in finding a furry friend. The staff stayed in contact with us the first two weeks after we brought Benji home to make sure he was doing ok. We truly appreciated that they were interested in his well being.
My husband and I have been wanting a new puppy for a while now (we have two little 5 lb Yorkies). We were at a pet supplies place by our house and saw this guy holding this tiny adorable puppy and decided to ask him where he got him. He told us all about Premier Pups and how great you were! So we went on the website and i automatically fell in love with "Tara" . My husband told me to find another option just in case and we also fell in love with "hope" a little teacup Maltese. But as much as i loved Hope i couldn't stop thinking about Tara! so we got Tara and when we picked her up from the airport on 3/2/2017 she was this adorable precious pup!! We are so in love with her and so happy with our choice! she is such a loving spunky puppy and our family is all in love with her! She came in the cutest carrier and had everything we needed! Premier pups were so great through this whole process and we are just so happy !! We will be getting any future pups from you from now on! our extended families are now wanting one so i'm sure you'll be getting their business soon! :) We also already took her to our local vet and she is completely healthy (they were also in love with her) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
The customer service team was there for me every step of the way! They ensured to keep me informed while he was being transported to Tampa and took care of his flight reservations. After he arrived they checked on him every day! The team provided and info packet and nutritional supplements to ensure he was well nourished his first couple weeks at home. I got text messages making sure he was eating and adjusting well. He was in perfect health when I brought him to the veterinarian and they were impressed with the vaccination paperwork I received from Premier Pups. I was honestly nervous to buy a pet so far away, but Dexter is awesome! He's so smart and well behaved. I couldn't have asked for a better puppy- he's almost completely house trained at 4 months old and listens so well! The breeder Premier Pups works with must be great! Thanks for an awesome experience and an awesome puppy, he's the best! <3
Wilson fit right in to our family. He adjusted very well. The whole process with Premier Pups went very smoothly. Everyone was very helpful. We were very impressed with the whole process!
We picked up our sweet Blakey last May! We have had her now for 10 months! She was our very first puppy and we are enjoying her every second ! She is a love! She will be a year old on March 24 th! Thank you Premier Pups for making the transition so easy ! You were awesome!! I highly recommend them!!!
Winnie is, without a doubt, the happiest dog I have ever met. She is one year old today and I thank Premier Pup for her. We picked her up in mid March of 2015, and although she was a bit of a challenge in the beginning, she has grown into a loving and beautiful little girl. She loves to cuddle and loves to play and brings so much joy to our family. I can't imagine what our lives would be without her. Thank you Premier Pup!
