Cavachon vs Aussiechon Overview

Cavachon Overview

The Cavachon puppies are a beautiful crossbreed of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. These adorable fluffs have been around for a little over three decades and come from North America. The Cavachon was designed as a new type of dog, a modern mixed breed that would inherit the hypoallergenic qualities of the Bichon Frise and the gentle nature of the Cavalier spaniel. Soon after their debut, these sweet dogs fascinated pet lovers wherever they went and found themselves sky-rocketing towards the top of canine popularity charts where they remain to this day. The cute little Cavachons are also known as Cavalier Bichons and Bichons King Charles.

Aussiechon Overview

Gorgeous, very intelligent, playful, and loving are just a few of the many qualities Aussiechons possess. These superb dogs first appeared in the 1990s in the United States and, although they are very rare, they have been one of the most appreciated crossbreeds ever since. A mix between a Mini Australian Shepherd and a Bichon Frise, the Aussichon puppies were created for the abundance of qualities they would inherit from both parent breeds. They are easy to train, hypoallergenic, and wonderful companions for many types of families. The Aussiechon pup is also referred to as Mini Aussie Bichon Mix and Aussie Bichon.

Cavachon vs Aussiechon Overview Comparison

Although they are not as old as other breeds or as commonly available, the Cavachon and Aussiechon have been gaining great popularity in the last few years. They were designed to inherit the hypoallergenic coat qualities of their Bichon parent breed, and the looks and amazing personality traits from their secondary parent breed as well as from their Bichon parent. The Cavachon and Aussiechon are both hybrid dogs that possess great health, keen intelligence, and a merry disposition. They both originate from the United States and are recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club).

Cavachon vs Aussiechon Temperament

Cavachon Temperament

The Cavachon can be described as an even-tempered, sweet, and docile dog that loves to love. Family is what matters most to these loving pups and being with their people is what makes them happiest. They are gentle and caring towards kids and entirely devoted to their pet parents. As family-attached dogs, Cavachons want to be included in every family activity. They want to be a part of your daily routine, join you on your jogs, sleep in your bed, and accompany you on every vacation. Leaving these pups alone can be challenging as they crave to be at your side every minute of every day. Separation anxiety is common among attached dogs and the sweet Cavachons fit the bill, but there is no need to worry as they are also very smart dogs that can be trained to be independent. Thanks to their amazing gene pool, the Cavachon puppies inherit big brains and an eager-to-please personality from both of their parent breeds which means that they train easily and are very responsive to their trainer. They are fast learners and attentive students that will learn anything as long as they feel will it make their owner happy. Their favorite rewards for being obedient are cuddles, belly rubs, praise, and delicious puppy treats.

Cavachons are just as cuddly as they are energetic. These sunny dogs love to spend their energy playing fetch, roaming freely, and hiking, going for swims and bouncing through piles of snow. They are big fans of playdates at dog parks, friendly dog chases, and social interactions. As naturally friendly dogs, Cavachons get along great with everyone from dogs to other pets and strangers. They make great companion pets for families with children, seniors, and novice owners and they fit wonderfully in a multi-pet household.

Aussiechon Temperament

Aussiechons are energetic, playful, outgoing, and cheerful dogs. They have an unending list of hobbies that includes chasing, fetching, swimming, going on treat-treasure hunts, exploring new territories, hiking, playing canine soccer, and participating in dog sporting competitions. As great fans of the outdoors, Aussiechons need to be involved in every family outing and have their exercise requirements met daily as they could become easily bored and possibly even destructive. Like their Cavachon cousins, Aussiechons don’t fancy being left alone for too long especially since they crave to spend their energy by doing something fun outside. They want to discover and explore new places, meet new people, and make new friends.

Training Aussiechons is effortless but these dogs need a challenge every now and then to keep them interested in the training process. They are fast-learning students and naturally obedient dogs that love to learn and impress their trainer. They pick up on their basic commands fairly quickly and are ready for the more complex trick training to begin. These intelligent Aussiechon puppies respond best to positive reinforcement and reward-based training methods. They love their puppy treats and praise and they are also very fond of cuddles and petting.

When it comes to their human family, Aussiechons are as loyal as dogs can be. They see their owners as their leaders, mentors, and parents and they have nothing but love to give. Aussiechons enjoy shadowing their family and snuggling up on the couch after all of their energy is spent. They love entertaining and playing with the family kids and are equally affectionate with all family members. These stunning dogs fit best with active owners, families with kids, and active retirees.

Cavachon vs Aussiechon Temperament Comparison

The Cavachon and Aussiechon are very similar when it comes to their temperament. Both of these dogs are kind, gentle, and well-mannered, and they are also equally smart, easy to train, and highly adaptable. They are comfortable in any living situation as long as their exercise requirements are met and they fit wonderfully with many types of owners. Both the Cavachon and Aussiechon are considered active or moderately active dogs, with the Aussiechon being a tad more energetic than the Cavachon. Both are social, non-aggressive, and friendly dogs that get along great with kids, dogs, strangers, and household pets, and they are equally fond of human interactions. Their attached nature is also something the Cavachon and Aussiechon have in common. These dogs love their humans above all else which means that they are not fond of being left alone and require extra training during puppyhood to learn the art of dog independence.

Cavachon vs Aussiechon Appearance

Cavachon Appearance

The Cavachon is a small, elegant, and well-built dog that appears happy and friendly. As a crossbreed of a Cavalier Spaniel and a Bichon Frise, the Cavachons sport stunning features from both parent breeds, often resembling their Cavalier parent more. These dogs weigh between 10 to 20 pounds and stand at 12 to 13 inches tall fully grown. They have a well-proportioned body, dark expressive eyes, a small black nose, adorable floppy ears that resemble those of their Cavalier parent, a medium-length muzzle, and a curled bushy tail. The Cavachon coat is medium to long, straight to wavy or sometimes curly, silky, smooth, and shiny. The most common coat colors for a fully grown Cavachon are white, tan, sable, brown, apricot, red, black, and various combinations of two or more of these colors. The Cavachon sheds very little and is considered to be a hypoallergenic breed of dog.

Aussiechon Appearance

The Aussiechon is a small, gorgeous, and confident-looking dog that appears at the ready for a fun friendly chase at a moment’s notice. Cavachon vs Aussiechon Appearance Comparison

Although they share the Bichon Frise parent breed, the Cavachon and Aussiechon have very different looks. More often than not, the Cavachons take after their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel parent more with some Bichon features, and the Aussiechons resemble their Mini Australian Shepherd parent breed more. The Cavachons have dark eyes whereas Aussiechons can have blue, black, brown, or heterochromia eyes. The Aussiechon is also a tad bigger than the Cavachon and is generally more athletic.

Cavachon vs Aussiechon Comparison Conclusion

The Cavachon and Aussiechon are two very amazing dogs that never fail to impress with their unique looks and endearing personalities. They are fun dogs that love to play and be active, and they need an owner that can cherish them and meet their needs. That being said, we recommend the fun and cuddly Cavachon puppies to families with kids, seniors, couples, and first-time pet owners that are looking for a loving and playful companion pet, and the spunky Aussiechon to active families, couples, and single folk looking for a loyal and fun adventure companion.
