Cavachon puppies are a hybrid breed between the Cavalier King Charles Spanieland Bichon Frise. Originating in the United States in 1996, the Cavachon quickly earned its place on the list of designer dog breeds. This lovable lap dog makes an incredible companion and tends to form an extremely close bond with its owner. Because of their strong connection they don’t like to be left alone, so if you’re someone who travels or spends a lot of hours at the office this may not be the best fit.
With its long to medium length coat and silky fur, and its hypoallergenic coat makes it a perfect pet for anyone suffering with allergies. Their coat can appear wavy or straight with a few different color variations, most commonly white with tan, apricot, red, brown and sometimes with black markings. Unlike some other designer breeds, their parents’ coats will be good guide to your puppy’s color. Because of their long fur they need trimmings once or twice a month depending on the season and the climate. It also needs brushing a few times a week to avoid knots and tangles.
Following in the pawsteps of its parents, this charming little puppy is sure to have a sweet and loving temperament. As long as your puppy is with you, they are certainly going to be happy and easy to please. They’re playful and friendly nature allows them to get along well with children and other animals. However, like many small dogs, they can become overly protective as they exhibit “small dog” syndrome. Ensuring proper socialization and training at a young age will surely help to curb this.
Family and Companionship
These little teddy bears make the perfect companion for anyone who is looking for a low maintenance lap dog. They adapt easily to whatever living conditions they are in and will not mind living in apartments or big family homes. They fit in well with a family or with someone who is single or retired. Because they love human interaction so much, they will not do well if left alone for long periods of time.
Though very playful, they are not particularly high energy dogs and only require moderate exercise. A daily short walk and some active playtime at home will suit them perfectly.
Training and Socialization
The Cavachon’s moderate to high level of intelligence and obedience helps to make training much simpler. 30 minute training sessions each day are just right for this puppy. In addition, early socialization will help your new pet to be calm in the presence of other people and pets and ease its separation anxiety when its owner leaves.

This breed will require a moderate amount of exercise. A daily walk and some active play each day at a combined minimum of 30 minutes will be enough to keep your Cavachon healthy for years to come. No, these designer dogs are fairly low-maintenance and require less grooming compared to other designer breeds. A brushing a few times per week will help to keep their coat shiny and prevent it from matting and tangling. Professional grooming appointments every 6 to 8 weeks are recommended to keep their coat trimmed as well as their nails clipped and their ears and teeth cleaned.
At full grown your Cavachon will need about 1 cup of high quality dry dog food each day. This should be separated into two separate meals.
They’re easier to train in comparison to other dogs because of their high level of intelligence and curiosity. Consistency, patience and lots of positive reinforcement and praise will have this little one trained in no time.
We just picked up Wrigley on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 and she is already settling in very well. She made the five-hour ride home like a trooper, eats every 2-3 hours and already tells us when she needs to go outside to potty. The first night home was a little rough but she now sleeps through the night in her crate or on her bed next to ours, just getting up once or twice to go potty. We have been so delighted with the staff at Premier Pups checking up on her daily and being so helpful when we picked her up this week. We highly recommend Premier Pups if you are considering a new puppy soon; hope you have as happy an ending as we did with Wrigley Belle (previously known as April).
Mally (formerly Alba) was born on March 23, 2020. We brought her home at 8 weeks and have been in love ever since then. We were nervous about adopting a dog online, but the process could not have gone better. Premier Pups was great with communication and answered all of our questions. They transported her to Washington DC where we picked her up. The process could not have gone smoother. I would love to recommend Premier Pups to other online potential customers. Our vet says she has perfect health and our puppy boarding place said they have heard of other happy Premier Pups customers too. We would love to connect with other puppies from her litter (Annette, Armando, and Arlo)
Great experience purchasing our pup Bailey - She has been an amazing addition to our family. I would highly recommend getting a dog from them abd in dact did as my neighbor ended uo getting one a year later. Both dogs are anazing!
Baby June joined our family a little over a month ago and we couldn’t be happier. After much research about small breed dogs, I came across Premier Pups in an internet search. The website was incredibly easy to use and we found several puppies we immediately became interested in. We decided on the Cavachon breed and my daughter selected June, (we kept the name the breeder gave her.). The customer care of the Premier staff is excellent. They answered all my questions and sent 2 videos of June once she arrived on their sight. They were wonderful about flying our puppy out when it wasn’t too hot and walked us through our first week with our little one. Our family has fallen in love with our very sweet, spunky, and funny June. I would recommend Premier to anyone. I’m very grateful to have found Premier Pups.
We had the greatest experience getting our puppy through Premier Pups. Costumer service was excellent and our puppy is a dream come true. Our vet raved about her being one of the healthiest breeder puppies he's ever seen. She has been with us for a little over a year now and her personality and temperament are a delight. I was unsure about buying a puppy over the internet without meeting her in person first but she is everything we hoped for and more.
We got Mia on 2/16/17 after a long journey. We had adopted a dog two weeks before, however she wasn't able to come due to two snowstorms (both on the day of flights.) The day she was supposed to arrive, the owner himself, Mike, called us to tell us that the dog had a health issue, and highly recommended to not fly her out, so she ended up not come home with us (best wishes Callista!) He told us that we could choose another dog, and that she can be sent out the next day. While crying over the news we just had just heard, my daughter found on the website Mia and immediately fell in love. This incredibly playful and well-behaved dog brings our family so much happiness and joy. They did such a good job checking up on her the first few days to make sure she was settling in and answering all of our questions. When we got Mia, I could tell right away that Premier Pups had taken phenomenal care of her. In fact, when she came she was already potty-trained and had the some of fundamentals and basics down for training. We are so grateful to Premier Pup for being so honest with us and helping us work through this difficult situation, as well as helping us find the perfect little doggy for our home. If you are thinking about to adding a family member, please consider Premier Pups. Thank you so much for giving us our bundle of joy!
I wanted to buy my Mom a Companion Puppy for her retirement Party... To say that I was Extremely Skeptical about Purchasing a Puppy Online would be an understatement!!! But I came across PremierPups.com, Called and asked a Lot of Questions (I'm surprised they didn't get tired of Me) I read all of the Reviews, Google Search, Yahoo Search, and did a Better Business review of them before I gave in and Purchased Jackson (JAX) from them. So for anyone else reading this that is as Skeptical as I was... Put your Trust in Premier Pups!!! They delivered Mom my an Awesome, Lovable, Healthy Cava-Chon Pup. They called several times after delivery to make sure the Puppy was doing fine, and answered all of my Moms Questions... Now I am 'Son of The Year'... Awesome Job Premier Pups, You are truly a Great Company!!
This is Dottie Ann (purchased as Jessica) and I would like to thank Premier Pups for the most beautiful and well socialized puppy I have ever had. Dottie is the best thing that has ever happened to me. She is very intelligent and loves everyone adults, kids and animals. I am looking forward to many wonderful years with her
Our experience with Premiere was very easy. Libbey has fit right in and has us laughing every day. She was well crate trained which helped us go right into housebreaking. At 14 weeks, she piddles on command, sits, and comes when called. Now if we can get past the puppy chewing, she will be perfect. But what's a pair of slippers compared to the smiles.
Hope arrived a few days ago and is settling in nicely. I was quite impressed with the communication with premier pups. They have called and emailed since she’s arrived. Also when she arrived Hope came with everything necessary to get a good start in her new home. Food, baby food and medicines. Hope also has a sister who is a puggle. As you can see from the picture, Hope loves her sisters big bed!
