Mini Aussiedoodle vs Aussiechon Overview Comparison

The Miniature Australian Shepherd, who is a rare and greatly loved dog, is the parent breed for both Mini Aussiedoodles and Aussiechons. Because the Miniature version of the Australian Shepherd (the Mini Aussie) is not as commonly available or as easy to come by as other breeds, the Mini Aussiedoodle and Aussiechon are among the rarest designer dogs out there. Both of these breeds originate from the United States during the 1990s and were created for their hypoallergenic coat qualities, superb looks, and high trainability.

Mini Aussiedoodle Temperament

Mini Aussiedoodles, or as some like to call them “Mini Aussie-poos”, are dogs that love to be active. They crave adventures, hikes, swims, snowball fights, and any other fun activity they can do outdoors with their humans all year round. They enjoy games of Frisbee and fetch, bungee tugs, and squeaky toys and they are particularly great at dog sports of agility and flyball. If you are outdoorsy yourself and enjoy being active with a happy pooch by your side, then the Mini Aussiedoodle is your ideal adventure companion.  You can trust your Mini Aussiedoodle to be kind, gentle, and docile around new people and other dogs as this is a naturally friendly and social breed.

Mini Aussiedoodles are also incredibly smart dogs, which is why they are often referred to as the Einsteins of the canine world. These bright puppies can begin their training as early as 7 weeks and continue learning new things well into their teen years, unlike other breeds that generally stop learning after they reach their one-year mark. Mini Aussiedoodle puppies are quick-witted, attentive, and in tune with their humans. They are dedicated, focused, and driven to please their trainer but they also need a good challenge as opposed to daily repetitions of the same command. When it comes to their human family, Mini Aussiedoodles are in it for life as they are loyal dogs that form strong unbreakable bonds. They are fun and entertaining for children and affectionate fur-babies for their pet parents. Although they are devoted and loyal to their humans, Mini Aussiedoodles are not fit for guard duties as they are much too friendly and are more likely to cuddle a burglar as opposed to bark or bite.

Aussiechon Temperament

The little Aussiechons are fun, outgoing, and playful dogs that make the best cuddle buddies. These adorable dogs love to be with their humans (you) - day in and day out, for every game and every adventure. They enjoy going on family trips, vacations, hikes, and picnics, and they are very fond of playdates at the neighborhood dog park. Aussiechons have a sunny and cheerful disposition that can light up even the darkest room. They are goofy and comedic stunt lovers that like to show off and impress you with their cute skills and hopefully be rewarded with cuddles, belly rubs, and delicious treats. Although small and cuddly-looking, the Aussiechons are surprisingly fast and agile. They can take on canine sports and are particularly good at going through obstacle courses. Like their fluffy Mini Aussiedoodle friends, Aussiechons are sweet and kind towards everyone they meet. They love to entice their canine buddies in a fun friendly chase upon meeting them and they are wonderful when introduced to new people. They are excellent with children and dedicated to making every family member happy. Since they are family-attached dogs, Aussiechons don’t like to be left alone, which is why they do best with an owner that is with them for most of the day. If you enjoy traveling and exploring the world and are in need of a fun travel companion to keep you entertained, the Aussiechon is the dog for you. This pooch loves to discover and explore and is never going to leave your side.

When it comes to training, Aussiechons check all the boxes. These intelligent dogs are fond of learning and you can never get bored while teaching them new things. They are quick learners with people-pleasing personalities, which means that they will do whatever it takes to make their trainer happy.

Mini Aussiedoodle vs Aussiechon Temperament Comparison

When comparing their personalities, you will find that the Mini Aussiedoodle and Aussiechon are perhaps too wonderful to be true. They are happy, sweet, fun, smart, affectionate, and charming dogs that can make any family feel like they have won a million dollars. These amazing dogs are great with children big and small, social and open towards strangers and friendly with other dogs and pets. They are also quick to adapt to any living situation and are great for many types of owners.

As for their differences, the Mini Aussiedoodle stands out with a more active nature and more exercise needs. The Aussiechons, although energetic themselves, are not as active as Mini Aussiedoodles and have fewer exercise requirements. Mini Aussiedoodles are happiest on a hiking trail testing their limits, whereas Aussiechons thrive when they are cuddled and included in family activities. Although both dogs are known to be easily trainable, the Mini Aussiedoodle needs more mental stimulation through training challenges, whereas Aussiechons are content with learning anything as long as they make their trainer happy. Mini Aussiedoodles are a bit more independent and can be left alone for a bit every day, whereas Aussiechons can’t stand the idea of being without their people and might be prone to separation anxiety.

Mini Aussiedoodle vs Aussiechon Appearance Comparison

When comparing their appearance, you will find that the Mini Aussiedoodle and Aussiechon sport very similar features when they both take after their Mini Australian Shepherd parent, which happens quite often. The Mini Aussiedoodle tends to be slightly bigger and a bit heavier compared to the Aussiechon. As designer dogs or hybrid dogs, both the Mini Aussiedoodle and the Aussiechon can take after either parent more which means that their looks can be quite different even in the same litter. The Mini Aussiedoodles can resemble their Poodle parent more with the Aussiechons taking after their Bichon Frise parent more, or they can both be a 50-50 combination of both parent breeds.

Mini Aussiedoodle vs Aussiechon Comparison Conclusion

Choosing between such amazing dog breeds is a challenging task indeed. Both the Mini Aussiedoodle and Aussiechon make exceptional companion pets as they are equally loyal, loving, and happy dogs. Although they both seem to be active breeds, they each fit best with certain owners. With that in mind, we recommend the sporty and energetic Mini Aussiedoodle to active families and singles that are looking for a fun companion pet to join in all of their adventures, and the sweet people-oriented Aussiechon to families with kids, couples, and seniors who are looking for a comedic entertainer that will never leave their side.
