A cross between a purebred Bichon Frise and a purebred Miniature Poodle or a Toy Poodle, the Poochon, Bichapoo, or Bichpoo first appeared on the scene back in the nineties. It has become one of the most popular modern cross breeds.
Throughout the years, these charming little dogs have found their way into the hearts and homes of many people throughout the world. Their adorable looks, high intelligence, and fun-loving attitude are inherited from both parent breeds. And their loyal and affectionate natures are what makes them one of the most in-demand designer puppies.
Appearance and Grooming
When it comes to their coat, thanks to their Poodle ancestry, they have hypoallergenic curly, low to non-shedding soft coats. This makes them a perfect choice for anyone who suffers from allergies. Their most common colors are white, apricot, black, and blue. These hypoallergenic dogs can be owned by pet owners with both mild and more severe allergies.
These beautiful dogs should be brushed daily to avoid tangles and knots and should be trimmed and groomed every 6-8 weeks if a short coat is preferred. Daily brushing for a few minutes will present the best results.
Poochons are lively, energetic, and highly intelligent dogs that are eager to please and always ready for their next adventure. Because of their high levels of excitement they can be a little unruly at times especially when still young, which is a trait they have picked up from both the Poodle and the Bichon Frise. They are always on alert and aware of their environment, which may lead to excessive barking. However, this can be gently curbed when dogs are still young to prevent any real problem later in a dog’s life.
Family and Companionship
These dogs make wonderful companions and family pets in households where the children are slightly older. They show incredible loyalty to their owners and form strong ties with their families. They should not be left alone for long periods of time as this can lead to separation anxiety.
The Poochon does very well in both indoor and outdoor environments. Because of their energetic personalities, they require daily exercise of at least half an hour, or more, especially if they don’t have access to an area where they can leisurely run around throughout the day.
Training and Socialization
Poochons are typically very easy to train, but like with all dogs, the earlier you begin the better results you will get. This is especially true with problem behaviors that may occur from anxiety, including excessive barking. These dogs are very eager to please, so training should be easy and fun.
In addition, it is very important to begin socializing your new puppy as early as possible. Their socialization should include introducing them to lots of new situations, noises, people, other animals, and dogs. Showing consistency in both training and socialization throughout the dog’s life will reap the biggest benefits.
Our Poochon puppies for sale are socialized early by both their dog breeder and our staff. This is to ensure that their transition is as smooth as possible.

10/10. I take Umi everywhere with me and people always ask me where I got her, and I always recommend primier pups. Primer pups made it such a gray experience getting her!

We are so grateful for the wonderful experience we had and we highly recommend them. I would most definitely choose them again to adopt another puppy! Thank you!!
Leo and Lacie
Premier Pups was an absolute 10 out of 10 experience every step of the way. I got these 2 poo-chon puppies at 8 weeks to ease the transition as my beloved 14-½-year-old poo-chon was about to cross Rainbow Bridge. Premier Pups was SO professional and provided SO much great information about the care and feeding of these two new fur babies. I had to fly them from Ohio to Southern California and the Premier Pups staff checked in by text and phone call to ensure their safe arrival and checked on them even after they were here. It warms my heart that a company is so dedicated to the well-being of the animals they sell! I even contacted them to inquire about the maker of the harnesses they sent home with my dogs and they actually sent me 2 new harnesses one size up with puppy toys at no charge -- I didn't even ask but it was so helpful as the ones on Amazon were too big! I would recommend Premier Pups to anyone looking for a fur-baby addition to their home!
Monroe Bailey Woeppel
Our Poochon “Blossom”, now named Monroe - is literally the BEST dog ever. Her personality is so sassy & playful!!! She doesn't have a care in the world & she is truly so much fun. Her 7 year old brother just adores her too. 💗💗 We're so thankful for Premier Pups - we can’t wait to get more pups from them in the future. We trust them so much, and had such a seamless experience, that we have FOUR other friends who got their pups from them also! Our Monroe is a little over 1 year old, and she is an adorable 8.5 pounds of pure love. If you’re thinking about getting a pup from Premier Pups, I HIGHLY encourage you go for it!!!! You will not regret it.

We had the absolute best experience with Premier Pups. The whole process from finding a puppy to getting him home was so smooth and the entire time the staff made sure to let us know of any and all updates. They even checked up on us during the first week or so to make sure puppy is transitioning well and doing good. Food and any necessary possible meds needed for pup were all included with our package which was awesome for us as first time dog-owners who were clueless. Our pup just turned 1 and he is the coolest, sweetest pup around. We are beyond happy to have Cheerio be part of our family!
My experience with Premiere Pups was amazing - from beginning to end. We will definitely use them again for our 2nd puppy.

As a first time dog mom, I was very nervous and hesitant to get a dog from just anywhere. After endless research, I finally decided that Premier Pups was the best. My intuition was correct because they truly have been the best and have blessed us with the best puppy that has filled our house with endless love and laughter. Monty turned 1 today! These past 10 months have been everything I could ask for and more, and Premier Pups has always been wonderful. With Monty being my first dog, I had tons of questions in the beginning. They answered all my questions and provided me with videos and an entire kit with his arrival to ease his transition. He adjusted really well and Premier Pups would text me and ask about him. He is a very healthy and happy pup. Our experience was wonderful and I recommend Premier Pups to anyone who asks me. If I get a second pup, it will definitely be through them!
Obi-wan Kenobi “Obi”
It has been only a week that Obi joined our family and he has been so lovely. He is very intelligent and quick learner. Most importantly he is healthy and Premier pups has been checking on Obi which shows they care.
