Named after the region of Pomerania in Germany, also commonly known as the Pom or Pom Pom was first recognized as a descendent of the Wolfspitz breed. They originally were larger and were used as sheep herders. It became a popular breed in England in the 1800 year, when Queen Victoria adopted one. Its size has reduced and the fur grew more, it became a small puppy with a smiling foxy look, a real toy dog. This puppy was first recognized by the AKC in 1888 and it was perceived as a watchdog, with agility and performing tricks. It has since become one of the most sought after breeds here in the United States.
Appearance and Grooming
They are small, toy-sized dog with wedge-shaped head, almond-shaped dark eyes and tiny and raised ears, sharp pot and long tail carried on the back. The short muzzle is straight and fine. The color of the nose varies with coat color. The coat is longer around the neck and chest area. It can have a variety of coat colors and patterns including red, orange, white, cream, blue, brown, black, black and tan, wolf sable, brindle and white with different colors. With a cottony undercoat regular daily brushing is important to minimize the amount of shedding and tangles.
This is a very intelligent dog that has an eagerness to learn and shows strong loyalty to its owner and family. It has a docile and affectionate temperament and yet will be playful and energetic when enticed. It shows off its bravery often with strangers, as it will bark at them excessively.
Family and Companionship
They are highly extroverted dogs and love being in the midst of new people and try to make friends with everyone they meet. They do extremely well with children and other pets as they are highly sociable animals. They are also very protective of their owners and they respond very well to training and mental exercises. Due to their size, they prefer being inside than outside. They are well-suited for a large home or apartment life and crave human companionship more than anything else.
Routine exercise is necessary for the health and wellness of these high energy level pooches. Daily walks and frequent play will keep you puppy occupied and fit. Don’t be afraid of long walks with this one as their strong levels of endurance can carry them up to 5 miles and sometimes even more.
Training and Socialization
Known to become aggressive if not properly trained, these dogs need a firm yet gentle trainer. Though quick learners who are good at learning tricks, primary focus should be on obedience and barking as these tiny pups tend to see themselves as the boss and become incessant barkers. Socialization is equally as important as their extroverted and inquisitive nature must be met in effort to keep your pup happy and well mannered.

Phillis is my third pup from Premier, I tell everyone about this site because we get stopped multiple times a day so people can say hi to her. She's perfect and loves everyone. I've never had even the slightest problem with Premier, it's always a seamless, hassle-free experience and each dog has been one of the smartest, most beautiful and wonderful dogs I've ever known. I'll never buy a dog anywhere else.
I purchased Sarang in April 2016, I was very cautious about getting a dog online to my surprise everything went great! My 9yr old Pomeranian passed away in Feb and I was devastated, he was my world. My Father suprised me with Sarang and I love him very much, though i still have a part of my heart for Shiloh. Now he's about 5 months old living teasing my Lab whenever he gets the chance.
We are excited and delighted to have Miss Harley in our home. The whole process with Premier Pups was outstanding. We picked her up at the airport and we had her even before the baggage from her flight had been announced. She has adapted well, eating the hard dog right away and taking her meds without issue. We had search quite a bit online before selecting Premier Pups for our Pomeranian and so glad we did.
Rush is very energetic puppy and it’s a great blessing for our family. We had a tough and good experience with Premierpups.com. We were very skeptical in sending the money before seeing our puppy especially when we were scammed of $200 before them. We are very satisfied and happy that we trusted God to be true and legit
We got Sasha right before my school started in the summer, and was skeptical of getting a "micro teacup" pom, but she's so healthy, people still think she's a puppy and she's 1 years old! We get compliments on her literally everywhere we go! I'm so happy we got her from here, I would definately reccommend this place!
Three years ago we got a teacup Pomeranian from Premier Pups and recently decided to give her a sister. We chose to go through Premier again because our first puppy Meadow has had the sweetest and best personality since the day we took her out of her crate at the airport. On November 5th we picked up Dana, now Amaluna or Luna for short, and we weren’t disappointed. She’s polar opposite of her new sister Meadow, but still so sweet. Her and Meadow are slowly getting to know each other. Meadow is very upset with us, but with extra loves I think eventually she’ll be happy we added a friend for her. You can tell that these puppies are well cared for before you get them. I’d definitely recommend using them 10/10 times.
We got Mia March the 2nd. She is a furry ball of energy. She is so small yet spunky.
We love our little pup, she can’t be more adorable, this company stands behind every pup they sell. Any questions or concerns are answered quickly and also resolved quickly. They are a stand up company, and I would not hesitate to refer my friends and family to them. Dale Phillips

We believe we have experienced above and beyond service/care from Premier pups. Our puppy is only 4 months old but thus far has only thrived. We were nervous about buying a puppy online but it was seamless the entire time. I was worried about the weather/flight and called several times and the staff was always so patient and helpful. They even sent an update video which was appreciated more than they probably know. When we went to pick her up from the airport she was alert, happy, clean, and seemed to have no qualms with flying which was something I had worried about (hence the phone calls). The car ride home was uneventful and she took to us immediately once we were home. I had informed my vet when making her first appointment that she would be coming from an online source and he was skeptical but once I brought her in with her papers and medications (just to double-check) he was blown away and commented "I've never seen a breeder this prepared." Which made us feel even more over the moon with the experience. Though it's only been two months since we have had her she has not had a single health issue, is growing perfectly, is smart as a whip, has a strong personality, not to mention absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to get her a friend from Premier pups in the future.
