No. As with any puppy, you have to be patient and very consistent with your training.
Maltipoo’s have minimal to no shedding.
Yes, they are good with children of all ages and with other family pets. Always, supervise young children around smaller dogs as they are more delicate because of their size.
They are very intelligent and loving dogs. They are full of affection and have an eager to please attitude. They make for excellent companion pets.
Maltipoo’s grow to between 8 to 14 inches and will weigh between 5 to 12 lbs.
Maltipoo’s are energetic, but they do not require too much exercise.
No dog is 100% hypoallergenic. However, the Maltipoo has hair, not fur, so they are considered low-allergenic.
There are 3 types of coats so it will depend on which parent breed they take after more. They can be straight and silky, thick and curly or wavy and wiry.
Between 2-3 months old it is recommended to free-feed a puppy. This means that fresh food should be available to the puppy at all times. Between 3 months - 1 year your Maltipoo should be on a schedule of eating 3 meals per day. From 1 year and on most adult Maltipoo’s need to have at least 2 meals per day.
General guidelines for feeding a Maltipoo are: • 2 to 4 lbs. 1/3 to 1/2 cups per day. • 5 to 8 lbs. 1/2 to 3/4 cups per day. • 8 to 10 lb. adult = 1/2 to 3/4 cups per day. • 10 to 12 lb. adult = 3/4 to 1 cup per day. • 13 to 16 lb. adult = 1 to 1 and 1/4 cups per day.
They love to hear themselves bark! This makes for an excellent watch dog and will alert you of anything suspicious. Their barking can be controlled if nipped in the bud at an early age through proper training and socialization.
Never leave your Maltipoo outside unattended. Although they are active and should receive daily walks they are best left indoors. Their small size makes them an easier target for predators.
The average lifespan is between 12 to 16 years.
Baths should be given every 3 weeks. Any more than this can cause their skin to become very dry and flaky.
Yesterday was the one year anniversary when Sugar (formerly Fallon) came into our lives. And we couldn’t be happier. After doing a great deal of research on the breed we wanted (Maltipoo) my wife and I searched for the best place to find one. We came upon Premier Pups and were overjoyed. PP was very professional and extremely helpful and informative in explaining the process. We picked up our Sugar at the airport in Boston and our lives have never been the same since. She is the most loving and friendly puppy that we have ever seen…and smart too. We will be forever grateful we found you.
I was really frightened about purchasing a puppy on the internet but it has turned out to be an amazing experience with Premier Pups and truly exceeded my expectations. My puppy Oscar is absolutely beautiful, playful and sweet...and very precocious! Wherever I take him in New York City I feel like I am with a celebrity. People just go wild over him because he is soooo adorable and lovable! I would highly recommend this service to anyone.
We were so worried about picking Sadie up at the airport. Thought she might be covered in puke and poo. And traumatized. No such thing. She was clean and quite perky. She is a bundle of joy. Full of energy and love. We are enjoying her a great deal. She is a happy and healthy puppy. She has adjusted very well; this is her 4th day with us. House is full of toys!!!!! Our other two dogs are adjusting. One is a retired breeder (Lhasa Apso) and could care less. The other is a 2 year old mini Aussie and she is a bit put out, however she is adjusting. We take her for extra long walks to the lake and beach by herself. Lacie and Matthew were texting me and calling me to answer any questions and giving me support and encouragement. I just wanted to say that PremierPups is certainly a professional organization. Thank you soo much, and God bless you tons. Sincerely, Jean and Karen.
Our family is so in love with Aspen now known as Leah. Our kids always wanted to get a puppy but we weren’t planning on getting one until we just thought of getting one during Covid. We looked everywhere and came across Premier Pups and we fell in love with all their pups. We’ve had Leah for about 5 weeks now and she has brought so much joy to our family and she has adjusted so well and quick into our family. We’re so happy that we got her through Premier Pups, they are so caring and friendly and we would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a puppy.
We are so in love with our Paisley (formerly Bonnie Lee) pictured on the right. She is a perfect addition to our little family. I have a 12 year old Maltipoo who has been my best friend since he was a puppy. He goes to work with me everyday (now they both do) and never leaves my side. My friends and family have been pushing me for the last 2 years to get another dog, since mine is getting so old and everyone knows that I am going to be a complete basket case when that terrible day comes and he is no longer with me. I finally started doing some research to find another Maltipoo because I’ve had such a great experience with my old guy, and didn’t want any other breed. I came across Premier Pups and found Paisley. They made the whole experience, from start to finish such a breeze. They texted and called a few times, even after I received her, just to check in and make sure she was doing well and if I had any questions. I’m hoping it will be another 12 years before I’m in search for another puppy, but I know that I will definitely be buying from Premier Pups again and will refer all of my friends to them as well.
For years I have wanted a small puppy, but in the past I have been quick to buy and there were issues with the breeding which caused health issues. My first mistake was I should have done my research. So in late March of this year I set out to do just that. I did my research called local facilities and breeders and just wasn't impressed. I furthered my research and came across premier pups at first I was a little skeptical as I would have to pay in full and hope I like the puppy, I was also a little concerned since the puppy would be flown in. After reading reviews and doing my research I fell in love with premier pups. They answered any question I had even if I called 15X a day. As many know a lot of states have been in lockdown due to COVID-19 this worried me even more because I had already purchased her and was scared I wouldn't receive her, But Mike and Lacie went above and beyond and flew his own jet in to deliver our puppies. I would recommend premier pups especially if you have had a bad experience in the past with buying a puppy. Hands down best puppy facility ever, I will never buy from anyone except them! Thank you all for your hard work!
We received our adorable most loving little guy Ace (Formerly known as Peyton) on 12/2/2018 it's only been a week and I cannot tell you how loved he is and how much JOY he has brought into our home. We are beyond excited to share our Christmas this year with the new addition to our family. The process was amazing and I just want to thank PremierPups. Crystal <3
We got Wrigley (Wade) a couple years ago, and we LOVE him. Not the entire family loves animals, but Wrigley has changed their opinion. He never barks, was potty trained in less than a week, and is the cutest little thing. He will do literally whatever you want, whether it be to snuggle or play and run around. Wrigs is the best Christmas present in the world, and is like the 7th member of the family. He goes everywhere we go, and we are always getting stopped by passing strangers for them to pet him and visit. He doesn’t mind it at all, and in fact loves getting the attention. We definitely think that Premier Pups was the best choice, and we wouldn’t trade Wrigley for the world!
I am loving my little Maltipoo we named Teddy. He made the airline flight in great shape and has gained a pound in the month we have had him. He sleeps over night in his crate from 11:00 pm to 6:30 am without a peep. He loves to play fetch as often as he can. What a sweetie pie.
Aspen now known as Kisses was a Christmas gift for my daughter. I couldn't have found a better place to purchase a puppy from. Premier Pups is a very professional, caring and friendly company that I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a Pup.

A cross between the Maltese and the Poodle, the Maltipoo is one of the most sought-after designer puppies in the country. Their hypoallergenic, non-shedding coats make them a perfect fit for any allergy sufferers. These dogs were bred to show love and be loved, once in the presence of a Maltipoo it may be hard to go to any other breed. And if that doesn’t make them desirable enough, they are very easily trainable and enjoy the process.
Appearance and Grooming
These puppies have a low shedding coat and a fluffy, soft and wool-like texture which is medium to long and varies from slightly wavy to curly. The coat can have different colors such as cream, white or silver. They require regular brushing to keep their coats clean and clipping of their coats once or twice a year, though trimming around the eyes, muzzle and ears is recommended more often. The ears also need to be cleaned to get rid of dirt, debris and moisture. This breed needs to have regular dental check-ups and nail care. It is recommended to start the grooming process in childhood to get it used to it.
While both Poodles and Maltese are very loving and affectionate dogs, the Maltese has a tendency to become overly assertive and reactive in certain situations, and may nip if provoked. On the other hand, the Poodle, particularly the Miniature, has a milder temperament and is far more tolerant, and this tends to shine through.
Family and Companionship
This quintessential companion dog, adores attention and loves to cuddle, and should never be forced to spend long periods alone, as it is prone to separation anxiety. Expect this puppy to be lively, inquisitive and eager to play. They make an exceptional family pet as they enjoy socialization and children.
Though designed for indoor life, your new puppy will still need daily exercise to stay healthy, happy and out of mischief. The have lots of energy and if not burned in a constructive manor can result in destructive behavior. Taking short walks and both indoor and outdoor play sessions are perfect for this small pup.
Training and Socialization
Known for their intelligence, affection, sociability and loyalty, these dogs become very attached to their owners. This in combination of its inherited intelligence of the Poodle and the sweetness of the Maltese that makes training simple as they are eager to please. Early socialization is highly recommended in order for these dogs to interact with different people, pets and places. Be sure to use positive reinforcement tactics such as food rewards, play and praise.
