In part 1 of Doodle Dogs Explained, we answered a few general questions about doodle breeds – what they’re like, how they are created, and how they came to be. In Part 2, we introduced you to the lovely Mini Doodle breeds that we can’t get enough of. Now it’s time to tell you all about the magnificent Toy Doodle breeds that are not only incredibly adorable, smart, and loving, but also small enough to fit in a purse.
What is a Toy Doodle breed?
A Toy Doodle puppy is a mix between a purebred toy-sized dog and a purebred Miniature or Toy Poodle dog. As opposed to standard or Mini Doodle breeds who are mixes of two large breeds or a large one with a small one, Toy doodles are always the result of crossing one toy breed with a mini or toy-sized Poodle. Generally, these cute puppies weigh less than 15 pounds as adults. The Cavapoo, Cockapoo, Havapoo, and Maltipoo are also part of the Toy Doodle group. You can read about them in Part 1 of Doodle Dogs Explained. Toy Doodle puppies are cute little fluffs that charm with their lovey-dovey personality and tiny everything. They are as smart as Poodles and as cuddly as a teddy bear. These toy-sized puppies are usually only bred for companionship, and as their toy size suggests, they are neither used as hunting dogs nor as working dogs. Lapdog duties are their full-time job.
What is a Poochon?
The Poochon is the result of crossing a Miniature or Toy Poodle with a Bichon Frise. Like their parents, Poochons impress with adorable looks and a personality to match. They are intelligent, easily trainable, highly skilled at cuddling, and 100% loyal to their owners. Snuggles are their favorite thing and they thrive when they are glued to the hip.
Are Poochons hypoallergenic?
The Poodle and the Bichon Frise are both fully hypoallergenic dog breeds. They neither shed nor produce as much dander as other dog breeds and are an excellent choice for allergy-suffering owners. Like the Poodle and the Bichon Frise, Poochons are famously known for their allergy-friendly coats. They are as hypoallergenic as their parents.
How big do Poochons get?
Depending on the size of their Poodle parent (Mini or Toy), Poochon adults can weigh as little as 6 pounds. They can reach 9 to 15 inches in height, although most stop growing once they reach 12 inches. Poochons have the same physical traits as their beautiful parents. They have adorable floppy ears, tiny noses, and a tail that is always up and curled.
Poochon puppies for sale
Poochon puppies are a favorite family dog breed at Premier Pups. These puppies have low exercise needs, low grooming requirements, and enough joy to go around. Like all toy puppies, Poochons are tiny, glamorous, and adorably fluffy. They love to be praised and pampered and are perfect for kids.
What is a Shih Poo?
The wonderful Shih Poo breed is a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Toy or Mini Poodle. Shih Poos are calm bundles of joy. Although they enjoy the occasional zoom or fetch, their biggest hobby is to grab attention and never let go. Like their Shih Tzu parent, Shih Poos are dogs with royal blood. They were made for a life of pampering, satin pillows, and laps.
Are Shih Poos hypoallergenic?
Shih Poos have excellent hypoallergenic qualities. As a mix between the Shih Tzu and the Poodle, who are both low-to-non shedding dog breeds that produce very little dander, the Shih Poo is unlikely to produce allergic reactions in humans.
How big do Shih Poos get?
As a toy doodle breed, the Shih Poo holds true to the small stature of its toy-sized parents. Generally, an adult Shih Poo will range from 8 to 17 inches in height and weigh as little as 8 pounds fully grown. A Shih Poo that has a Mini Poodle parent can reach a height of 17 inches and a weight of 18 pounds, whereas a Shih Poo that has a Toy Poodle parent will not likely exceed 13 inches and 10-12 pounds.

At Premier Pups, our Shih Poo puppies come fully equipped for a life of cuddles, fun games, and love. These cute puppies inherit the Poodle’s intelligence and plenty of gorgeous Shih Tzu features. They train easily, love big, and are a great fit for families, senior owners or retirees, and new pet owners.
What is a Pomapoo?
The Pomapoo breed is a stunning mix of a small Pomeranian and a Mini or Toy size Poodle. Pomapoos are true teddy bear puppies in all aspects. Their cute round faces, tiny and cuddly size coupled with their sweet demeanor, are just the right ingredients to cause instant puppy fever. These puppies are also called Pompoo, Pooranian, and Pomerdoodle. They are among the most popular toy doodle puppies in the United States.
Are Pomapoos hypoallergenic?
Although they are not as allergy-friendly as other toy doodles that have two hypoallergenic parents, Pomapoos can be a fit for allergy sufferers too if they take after their Poodle parent more. Pomeranian pups are not a hypoallergenic breed. They do shed a bit occasionally and are not the best choice for owners with dog allergies. Poodles, on the other hand, are the best hypoallergenic breed there is and they pass on some of their coat qualities to the cute Pomapoo puppies.
How big do Pomapoos get?
Toy Poodles and Pomeranian dogs are among the smallest purebred dogs in the Toy Group, and since they make up the Pomapoo puppy, this breed will take after their size. Typically, the size of a full-grown Pomapoo is between 8 and 10 inches. These puppies are also very light, dainty, and with an airy step. They can reach no more than 8 to 10 pounds fully grown.
Pomapoo puppies for sale
Our Pomapoo puppies for sale have all the right tools to bring an ear-to-ear smile to your face. They are lively, spunky, joyful, and not to mention impossibly cute. Although their size might not make them the best fit for a family with speedy toddlers, the Pomapoo puppies do match well with everyone else. Because of their toy size, these puppies need gentle handling, and small kids might not be the gentlest ones for that job. Families with older kids, senior folks, single owners, and new owners are the best match for these tiny puppies.
What is a Yorkie Poo?
The Yorkie Poo, one of the cutest toy doodle breeds in the world, is a crossbreed of a Yorkshire Terrier and a Miniature or Toy Poodle. Blending the Poodle’s intelligence and loyalty with the Yorkie’s outgoing nature and fun personality gives us a puppy that checks all the boxes. Yorkie Poos are highly intelligent, friendly, spunky, and completely affectionate.
Are Yorkie Poos hypoallergenic?
As the puppy of two famously known hypoallergenic dog breeds, the Yorkie Poo inherits all of the allergy-friendly characteristics its parents have to offer. These toy doodles shed very little if at all, don’t produce much dander, and have ideal hypoallergenic qualities that make them one of the best choices for an allergy-suffering owner.
How big do Yorkie Poos get?
Like all toy doodles, the size of the Yorkie Poo is determined by the size of its parents. Yorkie Poos that have a Toy Poodle parent can be as small as 7 inches tall with a weight of 3 pounds. This height and weight can average from 7 to 15 inches and 3 to 14 pounds for Yorkie Poos that have a Mini Poodle parent, but most will be somewhere in between.
